i only like it extremely deep fried. i don't like it fresh in pasta or what not. strange rubbery texture. bleh.

i had it for the first time (that i can remember) at a chinese restaurant yesterday. fried and spicy, it was great.

I am a squid lover extrordaniar. I wish I had a dollar every time I ordered calamari and my dinner partner lifted their nose in disgust.
I lived in South Florida so seafood was readily available. I had 2 haunts that prepared it perfectly. It cannot be too fried, breaded or rubbery. Hey, I will eat escargot, scallops, clams, oysters............if it is a creepy slimey urchean I have most likely tried it.........I have even eaten frog legs. Guess what? It tasted like chicken.

I love going squid fishing too. Nothing better than catching a few squid and frying them up when you get home (y)

I mean, why not just deep fry some peanut M&Ms instead. That would be a hit. And the willy nilly squids can be in the sea where they belong. Do'in their Squid'n.

Deep fried with seasonings though? No. See. I dont get it. Delicious peanut M&Ms are gross fried but squid legs are rocking down Italian eateries.

My favorite calamari is sauteed in a pan. Not heavily breaded and deep fried. The problem is that most of the time restaurants kill the flavor of the squid and make it rubbery like gumby.

nah they're dumb as, you could probably catch one using an old shoe as bait. that's the best bit about squid fishing, no baiting up the hook just wack a jig on the end of the line and off you go
