I wouldn't say 7 cars is like the ENTIRE shift at once, but I would say it is a quite significant portion of the friday night crew

i was chatting with a cop in the elevator at my work the other day. he asked me if i liked my job, and i said i did, but that sometimes the clients drive me nuts and i have too many and i asked him if he would please just take a break from arresting them. just one weekend, no arrests. then i clarified that of course violent people should be arrested, so slack off on the drug thing. he then said he wished they'd legalize pot, or at least authorize them to ignore anything in a personal amount. i was actually surprised to hear that from a cop.

i definitely had this same conversation with some people last night while drunk. not cops, law students. but one had a job with a judge, and he saw a lot of criminal cases, and an overwhelming amount of them were drug charges. and anyway, we're reading cases, as law students do, and a common theme that seems to be coming up is judges ruling a certain way to prevent a "flood of litigation" and i say, "legalize drugs, floodgates closed"
