Eh, it's expensive? There, I said something. Seriously though...it'll be cool. I'm just going to wait a few years until the price goes down and they release another game in the Ico/Shadow Of The Colossus series...
Hopefully we'll see another Jet Set on the 360 though....

But right now...I'm all about the Wii.

Have you played the GBA rendition? It's quite good as far as console-to-portable ports go.
Sony PlayStation 3 will be a good console a year after it launches, or thereabouts. It's going to take time for developers to get used to the development kits. A year from now, we'll start seeing better games releasing. Right now, I see little reason to own a PlayStation 3. The price isn't the only factor, but the game selection will be average for awhile, and not to mention, the hardware will more than likely face some malfunctions. Of course, all consoles at launches are more prone to break down, but when you consider what you're paying, and what will be available for you at the present time, then it comes into perspective.
As a side note, I'm not biased towards any one video game console. I have always been willing to try out all consoles and handhelds at least once. For instance, for the many setbacks the Nintendo Virtual Boy had, it was still pretty fun to play. I suppose I'm not difficult to please.
Anyhow, going back on topic, I personally, will be buying a Sony PlayStation 3 between 6 months to a year from now. I have preordered a Nintendo Wii, because the Wii remote intrigues me, and well, the little kid in me remembers the fun times I had with the old Mario and Zelda games. I was thinking about buying a Microsoft Xbox 360 at one point, but I decided to wait longer. I know there are some interesting titles out now, and soon coming out, but I'm either waiting for A) a further price drop/bundle deal, or B) more games.
All 3 upcoming consoles have their strengths and weaknesses. There's no reason to have unjustified bias towards any of these consoles. I'm excited for the next generation of video game consoles.

Yeah, I unlocked Poison Jam.
my friend works in promotions over here in the u.k. He invited me to have a quick go on a PS3 the other day. I played motorstorm (like a kinda dirt rally racing game).
To sum it up briefly, the game looked amazing, really pin sharp, but that was partially due to it being on a very expensive t.v set.
Didn't really like the tilt pad, it was way too sensitive for my liking and really light. Overall, kinda bummed that I didn't get to play anything else and that march 17th seems like ages off!

I feel the same way. I'm going out to get a Wii on launch day for the great games and because I've liked Nintendo since I was a little kid, it was what I grew up playing.I would have a 360 because it has a lot of great games but I'm too strapped for cash and need a price drop on the system.
As for the PS3, I'm sure I'll get one eventually but right now the only game that even shows slight promise to me is Metal Gear Solid 4 and one game alone doesn't justify such a hefty price tag.

Does anyone else remember the days before PC gamers were roundly ignored?
I'm fed up of developers putting off a PC release in order to boost console sales (GTA III onwards) or forgoing a PC release altogether (Call of Duty 3).
Whatever happened to the glory days when computer games were released on PC before console versions, came in boxes the size of cereal packages and were comprised of 23 floppy disks and a manual that you could stun an assailant with? :(

Like me. I just started working at best buy. I volunteered to work at the midnight release of PS3 but now I'm thinking about joining the line to buy one.
I can either make $50 or lose $600.

Indeed. The PC games are thinning out. Whats the point of having a computer then?

Yep, the day of the PC is almost over.
Soon we'll all be playing games, reading our e-mails, watching youtube videos and typing up that important spreadsheet data on our Playstation 3s.
Wait a second...

When that happens hell will freeze over!
Wait a second... uh-oh.
Don't forget that the PS3 comes with a 1 Year warranty.

I have a real shit-kicker of a computer, but half the games that I have bought recently I still have to turn the graphics down or they run a bit sluggish.
annoyed.
But I do miss the big boxes.

Metal Gear Solid 4 will be a hit on the Sony PlayStation 3, undoubtedly. I'm also excited about the Fabula Nova Crystallis project -- the compilation of Final Fantasy 13 games. There's the main title, Final Fantasy 13, which will be an RPG. Then there's Final Fantasy Versus 13, which will be an action RPG of sorts. Notable mentions for upcoming games, go out to Resident Evil 5 and White Knight Story. These are just the cream of the crop, of course, as you know there will be several more games announced as time passes. I presume within the next year, we'll hear of those announcements.
