that's pretty much my method. well, now I have a dishwasher, but otherwise it is. I also get pretty upset when the silverware drawer is not organized. one time my other roommate emptied the dishwasher and just kind of dumped everything in the drawer with no regard to the silverware organizing tray. I saw it, took a deep breath and closed it. Cort later said, "did you see this?!" because she knows how picky I am about my utensils. and I said, "uh, ya. I'm trying to pretend it didn't happen, for my own sanity's sake."

i think its mostly because i know that i cand fit a lot more in their if its done properly, and so i always end up shuffling things around so that there is more space for the rest of the crap that ends up piling up in the sink all the time.


but when i am washing the dishes by hand, i tend to do plates and bowls first, and leave cups for later
