That's a bit of quandary.
I assume refunds are available?
HEIRESS
11-14-2006, 01:23 PM
yes today is our last day for refunds, I have til 5 pm to change my mind
but I wont NOT go because of this since our tickets were cheap 60 BUCKS, but im am thoroughly thoroughly saddened because I would say van momo and the stones are about even on my top ten list

11-14-2006, 01:24 PM
I'd probably consider getting a refund and then showing up at the concert hoping for cheap tickets. :o

nice idea! but Im not driving 4 hours in canadian winter conditions through the coastal mountains ranges on the number 1 death highway in basically all of Canada and chance not getting tickets!

Yoikes.
-- not to mention driving back.
I think I'd cash the tickets in, but that's just me. The chances of Jagger's throat holding up (or him really flexing it) at this early recovery date in that weather is kinda slim.
Yeah, he'll jump around and preen around onstage, but I'd only pay to hear him sing.

Van Morrison was here over the summer and I wanted to go really bad...no one wanted to go because they didnt know who he was, I think I need new friends when all they listen to is top 40.

I dunno, I think my face would melt if I had to watch Bonnie Raitt. I should post that in the "personal hell" thread along with being tied to a chair and fed Cool-Ranch Doritos while being forced to listen to a 3 hour jam session at a Phish concert with a surprise appearance by Gnarls Barkley.
Although! Might be worth it to see them live, surely the machine that operates Keith Richards re-animated dead body will have to break down eventually.

i had a pair of tickets to the glasgow rolling stones gig a couple of months back just face down on the living room table. scott failed to tell me these tickets were available for use by myself because he was too fucking lazy to leave an answerphone message or write a note for me to read when i came home. i was super  that boy is just idiotic sometimes. i mean, what a waste! and they were comps! i could have sold them for a shatload even if i couldn't go to the gig!

Full disclosure:
Bonnie's my brother-in-law's aunt, for what it's worth.
I haven't met her, personally, but she's supposed to be a pretty nifty lady. And she gives great high school graduation gifts. (y)

Not for nothing, but Ms Raitt is actually a pretty top-class musician. If the only thing you really know of hers is "Something To Talk About", then you really don't know much about her work. She is an excellent blues guitarist and if you think you could bear to open your mind up to the possibility that if you went and saw her play, you might actually have a damned decent time, well then, you might just have one. Would I prefer to see Van Morrison over Bonnie Raitt? Probably, yes. But she's really not such a bad consolation prize.

Bonnie Raitt bashing is the avenue of expression for the sadness I am feeling over the fact that I am not going to be viewing one of my musical heroes, Van Morrison
sure she can play the guitar, sure she's a pretty hot old lady, sure she has accomplished alot in her life as well as appeared musically on many a 1 hour drama on basic cable for the past 10 years but thats not the point of this thread ms. peachy!

hey, why would you offend me? i didn't do anything wrong.
SCOTT on the other hand - hells ya.
god, that boy. seriously, if he's lost in thought just even watching the tv and you are talking to him, you have to get his attention by saying his name or prodding him about 5 times. he seriously is in a world of his own. he really does come first. but the thing is, you sorta forgive him for it because it is so much a part of his personality, and it certainly isn't done in a malicious way. he just genuinely will not listen to other people around him because the thoughts in his head consume him all the time. it's not that he's not considerate, he's just number one. i know this sounds shitty but i find it hard to describe. he's not a bad person but all his friends know not to rely on him or to count on him to remember stuff that's important or what not. we're very different.
and hey, he's a rockstar, they're practically allowed to be selfish!

While I really, really like the Stones, there's no way in hell I'd pay for a ticket. You could finance a couple of third world countries for that money.

I had a great time anyway. Go alone if you must. Seriously.
