sometimes when a board member posts and it ends up on the next page...it doesn't show up. and it's happened more than a couple of times :/

can we fix this or no?

his post is there now as far as i can see?

anyhow i can only see this happening for two reasons. 1, you've previously viewed the thread which means the page has been cached so when you revisit the same page the cached version of it shows up and not the "live" one. in this case you would either have to clear you "private data" or hit ctrl+r a few times. 2, the last user to post has had his post deleted from the thread, which removes the post in the thread obviously but does not remove the user in the Last Post column in the forum view.

anyhow, still strikes me as weird if you're saying you've made the post yourself and moments later can't find it.

it happened recently when i posted in some thread in sure shots. my name was on the front page as being the last person who posted, but my post wasn't there when you clicked on the thread. then someone pointed out that you could see it when you hit reply. that was a bit weird.

with that le tigre thread i think what they mean on the page index it says it is 2 pages long but when you click on page 2 it just loads page 1. and that page doesn't give a page 2 option. if you know what i mean. which you do.

yeah you can't see the post in the actual thread, but you can when you're replying, AND yet it shows that the person whose post is "missing" has replied and should be on the next page, but it doesn't show the next page unless someone else posts, but still the last person's post doesn't show up. it confuses even myself

and i still don't see either venus' or bridget's posts.

anyway i just thought i should've brought that attention because it got kinda annoying.

Can you post some links to where this is happening specifically?

Look at the Le Tigre/Kathleen Hanna Thread it says 2 pages & last reply by funkyfreshgrape (http://www.beastieboys.com/bbs/forumdisplay.php?f=27)

But here theres only 1 page not 2 & no reply by Funkyfreshgrape (http://www.beastieboys.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=52465)

I can see it, no problems. Weird.

Did you clear the cache like TPK suggest?

I tested on a regular account and that worked fine.

Clear the cache via Tools -> Internet Options -> 'Delete files' or equivalent.

make sure you got your settings in IE correct. go to tools->internet options and under browsing history (IE 6) or equivalent click settings and set the radio button to Automatically under "Check for newer versions of stored pages". at least that works for me. you could also try using www.firefox.com if you're on a pc, as this seems to happen more seldom with that browser.

also, if you think you might be experiencing this problem again, try and hold in ctrl+r for a second or two and press it multiple times as i've noticed if you only press it once and don't hold the buttons pressed for a while the page may not actually reload it's content but only reload the cached page.

I have seen that happen on the Sure Shots forum as well sometimes, and I use Firefox. I thought it had something to do with deleted posts in the thread (or ignored user....)
