I'm not sure. I think you'd have a hard time proving it was murder if it was times of war, though.

Is this about one of the four soldiers who raped that Iraqi girl and killed her and her family?

Everything I've read indicates the death penalty is an option in this case. Given that other offences can lead to the death penalty in the military - I don't see why murder wouldn't be one of them. I think desertion is one of those.

Yes they can. He copped a plea deal to avoid the death penalty. That's a good link for factual information, BTW Drederick.

The death penalty is certainly an option in the UCMJ.
Hasn't been carried out for a long time though... maybe it's time to now ? (lb)

Many times, yes. Sometimes, they can be a bit biased, but what news agency isn't at times?;) :cool:
