Holy shit, good movie. I liked the quick cameo by Richard Branson.
It's kinda long, but it is really good. Best bond in a while.
There was a party for Activision in the lobby and we thought it was for us. They were serving free martinis. Im a little buzzed because of an empty stomach and about 10 m&ms.

Good to hear.
How was Daniel Craig?!
i hear it's like the batman begins of bond films. all dark and gritty and stuff
daniel craig evidently makes for a very ugly bond. that's interesting

Daniel Craig was very good. The movie was not like the previous bond films. I loathed Die Another Day. It's a more back to basics bond movie. No fancy, impossible gear or scenarios. And the the nudity reference in the rating does not refer to naked females. :-x.
Daniel Craig (y).

haha shit. um no. i do not, although that scene did have some funny parts to it and cringe parts for the males. I do not approve of his naked body, but I know a lot of ladies will be.

i was going to see this this weekend as part of my anniversary celebrations but i will probably be in guatamala or somewhere and i doubt we'll waste time going to the cinema there. maybe tomorrow night though, hopefully.
i like daniel craig but he does pout an awful lot. i'm just looking forward to his balls getting whipped.

Such as chasing after a bomb maker who just happens to be the world parkour champion? Not impossible I know, but still...
I found it average. Craig's good as Bond, but the scriptwriters hit a brick wall with this one.
I'm seeing this tonight. I'm not a fan of the recent bond movie's, didn't even see the last one, but people are saying this one is different so could be good. Plus I don't pay to get in to the cinema (y)

Daniel Crag did an amazing job. Funny (bottomless chair anyone?) and down right gritty. The movie was also very good, as Boomin' already stated. Definitely didn't disappoint me. The movie makers didn't take anything into a count for peoples asses (long movie is what I'm saying), but it doesn't matter because it was so worth it for the last scene. Holy shit!
P.S. I had the M&M's too.

i don't really have any opinion, i haven't seen the movie yet and i don't think i've seen anything else the guy's been in. i'm just repeating what i've heard, apparently he's a very ugly bond, or something
which i'm all for

nah, he's hot. that's the opinion of the british females anyway...
he's a good actor and, from what i've seen, will be a good bond.
in other news, i love judi dench as M.

i think ice cube should have been the new bond.
saw the movie last night, and it was intense. the only complaint i had (i'm with Heiress on this), was that he was blond. what the hell is James Bond doing blond? other then that, it was good. the ball scene made me cring in my seat like mad, but was funny as hell, too.
that foot chase scene was amazing.
and i think i saw that branson guy in a revolving door, too.

I haven't liked a Bond movie since...well, I don't like James Bond films, actually. But this one is the exception. I thought it was excellent. And Daniel Craig is by far the least cornball Bond ever. And I had my doubts about him before i saw the movie. I mean, I like Sean Connery as an actor, but I don't think that the template he provided as the original 007 had aged all too well. Craig is the first actor to play Bond since Connery, that has really made the character all his own. I'm sure that a lot of the credit belongs to the actual makers of the film, but he's the one that benefits from it the most. This is the only 007 movie I've been able to take seriously. Ever. I hope they keep doing what they're doing.

If they didn't cast Daniel Craig (who kicked a lot of ass, haterz be damned -- which the only reason I've heard is because he's blond... laaaaaaaaaaaame argument), I'd have opted for Jason Statham. (y)

I agree completely. I saw it tonight. I think it was great that he wasn't a girly man like Moore and Brosnan. I love that he's not conventionally good looking. It's nice having a Bond who can take his shirt off too. Who said Bond can't be blond? He's great, but then I loved Layer Cake so much I was sure he could do it.
I know that people think it's too long, but I enjoyed having extended talking and card playing scenes. I get sick of modern action movies that never have slow spots to let the actors act.
The only thing that didn't work for me was when other characters in the movie acted like the lead actress was hot. She wasn't hot, even in the card playing scene where she's supposed to be hot. Alas.

She's an attractive women (even though she was wearing really bad eyeshadow much of the time). What worked is that she appeared to have a brain and this Bond was interested in that, and the verbal back and forth.
But her entrance in the card game didn't work. We had the earlier card game where an absolutely stunning woman made an entrance. We hear that Bond's helper is going to do the same thing. We get a peek at the dress. And then it doesn't live up to the set up. There were a lot of attractive women dressed up in sexy clothing in that room. She didn't stand out, yet it was a plot device that she was supposed to stand out so much that everyone watched her. Her entrance wasn't striking or sexy. I didn't believe that it would throw anyone off his game.

this about sums up my feeling too. this is the first bond film i could believe in since i was about 8. it seems like they've finally caught up with the rest of the world. daniel craig is brilliant... and brilliant as bond. what's the problem with him being blonde? weirdos.

went to see this last night.
oh, i thought it was fabulous! great action, great comedy, great romance, just enough of that bond-element of campness but not too much to make it a pisstake. they even managed to make the poker scenes exciting!
daniel craig is superb. people are saying that he might (whisper it) even be the best bond ever. ever! i liked vesper but yes, she was a bit wooden. this may be because she is, after all, a french women pretending to be an uber posh english one.
i did, i will admit, almost cry when she *SPOILER* died, though. sob! i guess it provides a reason why bond - from then on - becomes a bit of a chauvinistic arse.
went to see it with ranald who is an uber bond-book/film fan (his favourite bond is the dalton, shock!) and he says in the book she just takes an overdose and leaves a note. i liked the way she died in the film better. how poetic. oh i also liked the cia guy at the poker trying to wrestle away the glory for the americans! he's apparently a reoccuring character too.
