I'm pretty sure noone here wants to be security guards but, just in case and if you live in NY, you'll probably see some jobs announcements in the paper that say, "No experience necessary, will train and you can earn from $15-$35 an hour" to work security.
Of course that sounds real convincing and since I'm new here and looking for a new job, I decided to go check one of those places out.
I called and got a location to go to and I'm thinking it's a security position so, I'd better put my suit on and look spiffy. So, here I am, nice and clean, lookin' sharp and I go to this office, walk inside and I'm greeted by some guys in jeans wearing thick gold chains...
I'm not trying to jump the gun at this point and filled out an application they handed to me. After filling out the application, I was informed that it's required by the state of NY that in order to be a security officer, you've got to carry a NY state certified license and I told them that I understand.
They then asked if I want to do armed security and I told them for sure because it's a big pay increase. They then told me that I'm in luck because they provide all of the essential training required by the state and they will issue me a certificate upon completion. All for the price of $2,700 and then they asked me right off the bat, when could I pay.
I told them to hold off a bit and I then went home and did a little research on total costs for the training for the unarmed guard license and the training for the armed guard license. All in all, the total shouldn't be more than $600.
I just want to help people from this scam shit they've got going on. They're job placement places that can place you at a job but, if you know the info for the job, you can just go and apply directly and save alot of friggen money.
BTW: I got a tip off from an old army buddy of mine that lives here and he hooked me up with fucking excellent job but, they only hire people with military background and the uniform is very similar to a pair of bdus. Anyhow, I start next week... YAY!!,
