View Full Version : Settling a Bet
I can't even believe I have to do this. This kid is arguing with me that more people who know how to play guitar can play "Freebird" than "Stairway To Heaven."
Get serious.

i guess that makes my answer obvious

Well Freebird is twice as long, ain't it? IF I COULD play guitar I'd be more likely to play that, but I guess that don't count. It's much cooler though.

Lynyrd Skynyrd, you know, when Otis, Captain Spaulding and Baby drive into the sunset before their deaths in DEVILS REJECTS. First time I heard that song there but it's one of my faves from the OST, along w "I'm at home getting hammered while she's out getting nailed" and "I can't quit you baby"...
It's much cooler though.

I've been around guitars and guitarists for several years now, and I've never heard anybody play Freebird.
Never.

no one plays stairway to heaven unless they're good, so since more passive guitarists blow gorilla penises, then freebird must be the one.
the first song i learned was the beatles' day tripper, then smoke on the water

haha, no one plays freebird. and stairway isnt that hard. its obviously stairway.
and as for smoke on the water, lots of people play it, but i bet only half actually play it right. it pisses me off on school of rock when hes teaching smoke on the water wrong :(

Me neither.
The most commonly attempted song by beginning to intermediate hippy douche guitarists is D'yer Mak'er. By a fucking landslide.
