Perhaps, he may be on the brink of some mental problems for sure, especially now that he's been seen blurting out lynchings and racial slurs on the www. The man is supposed to be the consumate pro, he's made millions doing comedy, he's 57 years old and should have some sort of maturity and wisdom. If all of this time has gone by and he is not relaxed enough in his own skin to accept the stage and all of it's pitfalls...well somebody has lied to him about his skills or just accepted him as a racist, along with his mental problems. He did go onstage the following night without incident according to the local paper.

There's a cell phone video of him doing his thing and it's very very shocking. I couldn't believe what I saw.

The context of the whole situation is that a couple of black guys kept saying that he wasn't funny, so Richards just exploded on them.

Hecklers are hecklers and are more than fair game for the comic to put them in their place, but to actually say "50 years ago we'd have hung you and stuck a fork up your ass," call a spade a spade guys. That's downright racist and it was upsetting to see.

Although it's still unclear of what set the situation off. This is the part that I'd like to know but thanks for the media, they've only caught his outrage.

The guy's pushing 60 so maybe he's reaching that time in life where it gets harder to cope with things and being on stage at that age is something I don't want to imagine due to tension. He could have been more professional about it but I look at this as an adrenaline fight or flight situation where it's easy to lose control.

Yeah exactly and almost in every dictionary, there's at least 3 definitions for the word and not all of them are based on the race of a person. It's not like all of the definitions are stating that it refers to a black guy.
