there was an old thread that said that it will cost around 500 to 700 thousand dollars if you want to book the band for a party...
so, uhhh... more power to you...
and to kleptomaniac- Chevy Chase Maryland was founded in the 1890's...
it appears the actor was named after the land, not the other way around:p

$500-700 thousand? Does that include expenses? I would need to know the details to decide on how big of a second and third mortgage I'd need to take out on my house.

I'll show up to the wedding and fuck a bridesmaid if you want....all for free
planetbabygurl

Sorry, no bridesmaids, no wedding dressing, no wedding cake -- not that kind of party. More like... a fancy birthday party.
But I'm having a very vivid vision of the Boys playing my wedding. I have a really good feeling about this....

No offense but this sounds like a pretty crappy wedding...I doubt the Beasties play normal weddings let alone crappy ones...

The Beastie Boys would probably play anything BUT a "normal" wedding. This is going to be a PARTY with wedding overtones, without any of the traditional wedding themes such as a white wedding dress (who ever decided frilly and white looks good on every bride) and a cake that looks pretty but tastes like sawdust and sugar. The food is going to be off the hook, and the entertainment... well... that's still in the works, isn't it??

yeah, i'm sure they'll consider cutting the cost now that they know you won't be in a traditional dress...

they did give chevy chase a shoutout during the 2004 fairfax show. That may be the closest you'll get.

Beatsie Boys, you have to meet my wife, as we couldn't get Bill Murray nor Ricky Gervais as celebrants, let alone you lot at 50 million rupee a pop to play a bit of Use Your Illusion type shit. She's mad.

Listen, Disbelievers. You ask, "Why would the Beastie Boys play this wedding?" I ask, "Why wouldn't they?" I'd fly them down here, get them set up in the hotel of their choice, feed them, and provide libations. I'd offer up my eternal love, but they already have that, regardless.
Anyway, I have a vision of this whole thing. I'm thinking a nice instrumental jazz set during cocktails and dinner. And then... well, you all know the rest. They already have the really sweet baby blue wedding tuxedos, although this being a non-traditional June wedding in Chevy Chase... well, they might just want to wear their jeans and t-shirts.

Fuck that. If they HAD been at my wedding, the bridal party would have entered to In 3's. We would have entered to Car Thief. First dance Intergalactic with some robot and pop and rock action, leaving song would have been To All the Girls, so they get a chance to sit down and have a chat with the mums involved.
During dinner, the first five TT5B songs, B-Boy Boulliabaise, Slow and Low, Hold it now, Slow Ride, Electrify, Grasshopper Unit. Short meal, really. Just a burger or two.
The main party, the Boys can play instruments while we all get up and sing Highway Star, Smoke on the Water, Ironman and November Rain (alright, You're Crazy, sheeesh) and other classic rock karaoke hits. If they want to fuck around and do some hip-hop, then whatever. Shit I'm not fussy.
Too late now, though. Don't miss another chance, Beastie Boys.

They'd probably need to take a leak, sure (apologies for the toilet talk). Luckily there's facilities nearby to handle their waste.

I'm thinking the new material would be thicker so they would probably "ooze" some new material.

sounds like something anyone would want to do. work a wedding for people they don't know, playing what they're ordered to play, in chevy chase.
anyway, too bad your join date is june 2004 and you've never been a mod. my husband's been on this board since 2000 and was a mod at one point, so we didn't have to ask shit when our engagement was announced.
plus, we're superawesome and live in florida. we couldn't have kept them away.

I bet you're very attractive compared to the average senior citizen in Florida.

they're not playing your wedding, and they're not playing a theme park in valdosta.
BECAUSE THEY'RE NOT DEBBIE GIBSON!

If you would have looked at their tour dates, you would have seen that they can't on that day because they are performing for a grand opening of a Petco in Cerritos, CA.

Notwithstanding...
It's an uncanny coincidence that I look a little like Debbie Gibson.

planetbabygurl... there is something called a booking agent... if you are so very serious about making this happen, you can do it for the proper price...
check your PM... I sent you the link with the contact... but are you ready to shell out half a million dollars for your anti-wedding?
besides, the Beastie Boys are playing my cousins Bar Mitzvah at the rec center in Duluth that weekend anyway...
