View Full Version : is it too much to expect that a shoe store would have shoes in my size?

me: "oh those shoes are great, excuse me, do you have them in a size 10?"
store bitch: "no we don't stock above size 8"
that's at least better than "no, we don't have things in *scorning look* your size"?

do americans have the same shoe size?
i'm an 8 (Aus) *smug* everyone is an 8. although if you're slow, the 8s run out, but im fairly sure 8 is the most popular size.
my friends range from 7-9, my friends with size 9 feet have lovely shoes so i don't see why there wouldn't be nice shoes in size 10 too.
i did have a friend with size 13

i'm tall for my age so i get my adidas & vans (pretty much sneakers) in a size 9, i think i've only been told that they didn't have it in my size twice & thats it.

American Outlet Stores = YOUR FRIEND

I'm 12s-13s UK which is 13s-14s in the US and I'm 5 foot 8 and a bit.
My hands are huge too.
And my head.

I have a UK size 8(,5) (For the americans: that's a womens size 10,5) and I don't really have too much trouble finding shoes. But that's mainly because I'm not really into girly shoes anyway and a mens size 8 is easy to find.
Actually, I've only had pretty positive experiences with my big feet.
Girls usually have smaller feet and guys have bigger feet, so I often find shoes on sale that are only left in my size. Which is a good thing. I just found these (http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/pinupgirlclothing_1925_106240328) in size 8,5. <333
I only need to build an extra room in my house to store all these huge shoes in.

I usually have a US 10 or 11 (women). if you are a woman, have big feet and want women's sneakers (or boots) you have lost. at least where I live.

were i looking to insult zorra, i would not choose something she has no control over, such as shoe size, and i certainly would not feel the need to hide it in a post to pauli. instead, i would merely point out the obvious regarding her behavior, which isn't even really an insult, it's just the way it is.

Like I said, I know who you were talking too. If you were aiming at susan, she'd be perfectly able to look after herself. But I still don't think people with shoe sizes larger than your own deserve to be called sasquatch. That's pretty fucking nasty.

I feel your pain I have size 13s and they usually have a very limited selection. Plus my feet are narrow so it's hard to find shoes that fit. My last like 12 pairs of running shoes have been the same model cuz they actually fit.

I wear a 9 or 9.5 in shoes that are well made. cheap shoes, I usually have to go for 10. my feets are wide. they are loverly tho.
I know lots of girls who wear size 10 shoes. Sometimes you can ask places to order shoes in your size.

I always had large feet. I could never buy fashionable shoes when I was a girl. It is easier for me to find shoes today than it was back then. The internet helps a lot. German women must have large feet because I do well with German online stores but the shipping costs a fortune.
I am never going to find a dress shoe on sale, at a discount store, or at an outlet. Our major department store doesn't sell my size at all (US 11). The most difficult part is finding winter boots.
(FYI -- A US 10 is smaller than an Australian or UK 10. A size 10 is the top common size in women's shoes in the US. Higher sizes are specialty sizes and most brands aren't made any larger. I think that a US 10 might be an Australian 8.5?)
My feet are long but not wide, so I can't wear men's shoes--even sneakers.

i call my husband big foot and my son little foot. when i hear feet approaching in the house but i can't work out which one it is i say, "big foot or little foot?"
i'm a 6. that's a european 39. the whole world should all go by the same system because in US sizing i'm a 7 or something which does indeed sound like big foot.
i went to uni with a girl who was 6 foot and had size 5 feet. she used to fall over a lot when she got drunk. so err yeah, feet are quite useful.

I think I might be a medical marval. My feet appear to have shrunk - I bought these on Saturday New boots! - Worship the boots (http://www.jonesbootmaker.com/ebusiness1/store/product_details.jsp?pid=27479&cid=2&red=search_results.jsp?cmbCategory=2,txtSearch=,tx tSKU=,txtSearchNameSKU=Tai,cmbPriceStart=-1,dspimg=YES,cmbPriceEnd=-1,) and I tried on these Yummy (http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/19968501/c/3.html)
and they were both a size smaller than my regular size - and they both fit. It very odd.
Now - I need feedback on whether I should buy the shoes. They are holding them for me this week as it's the last pair left (is it fate?) Please advise.
Thanks

eh, i didn't see all the shit going down in this thread.
pres, you little wii giftee, i'm sorry and i likes yah but i think it's mighty obvious beff was just taking the piss and certainly did not mean pauli's friend was a mythical oversized mountain-dwelling beast. it was quite a funny joke and it made me LOL. to call her a bitch is just being a bit nasty on your part, i think, because you are intelligent enough to realise she is blatantly just being funny.
heck, i'm sure pauli herself calls her friend sasquatch and invites greatest home videos over to film the craziness!
oh, i'm about a 61/2 uk if i can get it. 40 in europe, 9 in us/canada and 71/2 in australia. i only gots one pair of boots :(

I'm slightly concerned now by above mentioned shrinking feet syndrome - hope they don't shrink so small that my lady bits disappear completely.
