Hey People,
I been getting into “alternative format” novels lately…you know, novels with bizarre traits, like that they are heavily(but brilliantly) illustrated or elaborately footnoted, pages and storyline told in reverse manner or flash back method, ….all different methods of weaving the narrative in a new and boldly unique fashion…my lit prof would have considered a lot of it novelty or junk food reads…..anyways,does anyone else see this as a new and exciting movement in publishing? Anything you’ve read/recommend that fits the bill? These are a few I thought were really, really, clever and entertaining…..
“Blackbox” by Nick Walker (Embrace your fear of flying!)
“Caramba!: A Tale Told in Turns of the Card” by Nina Marie Martinez (A female Tom Robbins!)
“The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay” by Michael Chabon (Hey all you comic book kids grown old!)
