Hey People,

I been getting into “alternative format” novels lately…you know, novels with bizarre traits, like that they are heavily(but brilliantly) illustrated or elaborately footnoted, pages and storyline told in reverse manner or flash back method, ….all different methods of weaving the narrative in a new and boldly unique fashion…my lit prof would have considered a lot of it novelty or junk food reads…..anyways,does anyone else see this as a new and exciting movement in publishing? Anything you’ve read/recommend that fits the bill? These are a few I thought were really, really, clever and entertaining…..

“Blackbox” by Nick Walker (Embrace your fear of flying!)

“Caramba!: A Tale Told in Turns of the Card” by Nina Marie Martinez (A female Tom Robbins!)

“The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay” by Michael Chabon (Hey all you comic book kids grown old!)

A man moves to a village in Wales and gets talking to an old man from the town,He asks the old man what his name is, but the old man gets very irate at this point and says:

"See that line of houses over there? I built them all, but do they call me Jones the house builder? Do they hell!"

"See those railway lines over there? I laid them all, but do they call me Jones the engineer? Do they hell!"

" See those bridges over that river? I built them all, but do they call me Jones the bridge builder? Do they hell!"

"But, a long long time ago, I fucked ONE sheep..."

:D
