Not in an informed General-Political way. Just as an average person who wants to make suggestions.
Practically speaking, I think there needs to be fewer motor-vehicles on the road, and if electric automobile technology becomes implementable, it should be utilised for mass transit. Move more people, with less vehicles. Probably take about 50-75 years (or, a generation and a half) to make it happen, as I doubt people nowadays would be able to handle the adjustment.
Didn't someone say the oil and car companies tried to bury the concept of a rechargeable electric car?
easy solution
don't think about it till we all die suddenly

Yeah, little shits.
So if we sort out vehicles, how about industrial emissions? The industrial revolution isn't even 150 years old, and this is already happening. Mother Earth is kind of like a wheezy Grandma at the moment. And she's only just reached a pack a day, or something.
And then what about humanity's garbage? My practical solution: Blast it out into space. That at least touches a little bit of Hawkins' "expand into outer-space" suggestion.
I love how rude he was to Panucci. "No. Today I want something good." "Toss it in the garbage."
That at least touches a little bit of Hawkins' "expand into outer-space" suggestion.
And a little bit of futurama.

unfortunately, i think the only way humanity will survive is if there's a massive kill off somehow. viral perhaps, so the earth isnt as destroyed? the earth isnt MEANT to take so many goddamn people. but that doesnt solve the climate crisis. eh.
who wants to go kill people with me? or wake up the zombies?

Not to be inappropriate, but AIDS and Cancer are trying their best.
That said, less people would go a long way to solve the climate crisis.
There's some government initiative, I'm sure, in Australia regarding childbirth. I know 6 different women aged between 20-29 who were told to hurry up and have children because they have cystic ovaries. Yet no women who already have young children were ever told this. It seems to have started within the last 4 years.
So I guess what I'm getting at is that less children is part of the solution, yet it seems the government here wants more future tax/rate payers.

i agree. theyre just not doing it well enough. hahaha. imagine a real die off, like the spanish flu sort of thing, where 25% of the world population dies. imagine that kind of devastation. it's terrible, but it's probably the best thing that could happen to the earth.
of course, no one wants to be the one who dies for the sake of the earth.

yeah, the government is putting the pressure on young women to have children here. it's ridiculous, they don't think about the future costs of women who are too young having babies, in terms of broken families, deadbeat parents, fucked up kids, alcoholism, drug abuse etc.
i know too many girls who have had babies outside of marriage, outside of committed, caring relationships, girls who have been spurred on by the Baby Bonus. half these kids are living with a sole parent at their grandparent's house, and the rest are living below the poverty line in a single income houshold...
why the fuck do stupid, irresponsible people breed...it'll be just my luck that after years of using proper birth control and being responsible and then finally becoming financially and emotionally stable enough to have children that i'll find out i'm unable to actually have children...and i'll sit and watch the decline of the planet as it is increasingly populated by the offspring of aforementioned idiots.
end rant :p
I'm glad you're seeing it too. I hadn't even factored in how crazy it is that the government pays people to have babies.

Aim for 32. Anybody who talks about enjoying anything they haven't yet experienced yet is surely a buffoon.

There doesn't need to be a culling of humans, if the world was looked after properly it would be able to support a few billion more, no problems.

I don't agree, mainly because the problem seems to be the increasing rate of population growth, and the extra strains that puts on the planet at a rate it can't cope with.
