I'm rather surprised this hasn't come up.

What do you guys make of this? Were the Syrians behind it? Was it done to make it LOOK like the Syrians did it?

Either way, it's just one more obstacle to stability in the Middle East. :(

i think it's got our (US) hands all over it.

Does it really though? The Syrians have been occupying Lebanon for some time and they were responsible for the death of the former Lebanese Prime Minister last year.

Anyways, nice to see you back, Marlene!

In another article, it showed the driver side window of the car that he was driving. It said that the assassin shot almost a dozen times into the car at point blank range.

Rather disturbing, to say the least.

So much paranoia and conspiracy theory.

The Syrians have been manipulating Lebanon for a long time and will continue to do so until either the Israelis step in and give them another good whupping or they're overwhlemingly condemned worldwide.

Not that the current government of Lebanon is Western-backed (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/4641865.stm), or anything:rolleyes:

No it can't be on the "Political Discussion Board" unless there is a mention of how it was the U.S. fault somehow... DUH! (lb)

he was a member of the phalange party, his grandfather was a founding member of the militia, the christian lebanese militia which helped israel hunt down and massacre palestinians, among other things...

So that justifies his assassination because of his grandfather's actions?

Of course, DS.

That's the way it works in the Middle East...everyone is responsible for their grandfather's and fathers' actions so no one can ever start with a fresh slate and move the hell on.

As for the Syrians NOT being charge of most Lebanese problems over the past 6 years...prove me wrong.
