Black Friday

I participated in my very first blackfriday today and probably won't do it again next year. I did get a gangload of DVDs, a portable dvd player and carrying bag, and 3 1-gig sd memory cards for less than 200 bucks. I think I ended up with like 14 dvds.

I went to Walmart first then Target and afterwards Best Buy. I didn't buy a damned thing at Best Buy because shit was all fucked up there and the lines to check out were extremely long.

Did anyone else find some booty this morning?

Black Friday = day after Thanksgiving where we show everyone how dumb Americans can be because we will wait in the freezing cold for 5 hours straight (or sleep out for 2 days before) just to shove others down in a Wal-Mart because TVs are half off.

And no, didn't participate. Nothing that I want THAT badly that couldn't wait.

Go out if you're not planning on shopping. Today's the day to get out and do shit while everyone else is busy. I'm one of like maybe 20 people in all of DC who has to work today. On the Metro, I was able to take up two seats and put my feet up. Maybe 10 other people were on my train. And then I was able to jaywalk across the street when I got to my building, because there were NO cars.

It's so slow now, I'm just going to spend all day posting, talking to people on GChat, and watching The Critic.

some dude on the news who was the first person in line had been camped out all day yesterday. he said it's like best buy is paying him $1000 to be there because the things he wanted were such great deals.

i wanted the $3,000 50" plasma that was only $497, and i also wanted one of the cheap computers for my kids. but i'm not camping out for that.

I need to go to Target to get some things for my bathroom and need to do it by today, I kind of forgot about it being "crazy day." At least I won't venture out until around 1pm, I know a lot of the promos were for 5/6am through noon or something.

alright i did my 2nd or 3rd black friday today jus got back & i'm very tired i think i drove all of L.A & Hollywood (with my family, course i don't drive yet, YET!)

ok so i met up with my dad at a target the line was full but the store finally opened & my i was in charge of getting the digital camera & toaster & he got the lcd T.V & george foreman grill, i also got Jay-Z's Kingdom Come album (not bad)

while this was happening at the target my brother was at a circuit city & best buy but he said fuck it cuz the lines were too long

after that we went to a huge outlet mall, i got me a fresh adidas jacket, 2 DC shirts, 2 Aeropostal shirts, & something else i can't remember

It was bad when I worked at the fabric store and the little old ladies would line up outside of my store in a line. We'd open at 5, I got there at 4. What they didn't realize is that EVEN THOUGH I'M THERE, THE SIGN ON THE DOOR SAYS 5. MOST RETAIL PLACES HAVE THEIR EMPLOYEES COME IN EARLY TO SET UP. So I get there at 4, they crowd around me, and I have to tell them we don't open for an hour, unlock the door, squeeeeeeze myself into a tiny opening I create for myself (as to not let anyone else get the idea they can get in) and lock it back up. Bunch of ravenous wolves they are. I should have gotten a broom to swat at them and yell "BACK! BACK DAMN YOU! YOUR GRANDCHILDRENS' FABRIC CAN WAIT AN HOUR!"

Sounds like the sales we have here after Christmas. It used to start on the second day of Christmas, then some places started having it already on Christmas day and I bet the sales start on Christmas Eve this year...
