thats just how it is in BC, specially on the coquihalla highway

thats nothing

normally the trip through the moutains to the coast take about 3.5 hours in good weather going atleast 100+km/hr the whole way but ive been through in a storm where they closed down the highway after we'd entered it and the trip took almost 8 hours because we barely went faster than 25k/hr the entire way and the snow-drifts on the side of the road were like 6-8 feet high
and at one point a bunch of people had to stop because a semi jack-knifed across the highway but we were in a lil baby geo so we were able to inch by the truck and keep going w00t!

its just this one portion of the highway in the middle where its a deathtrap because its the highest elevation, there is really no where to go or turn off so once you are in this mountain pass you basically have to keep going or just pull over on the side of the road which is sooooooo not cool because who knows if someone will smash into you

I highly recommend the trip in the summer though because the views are GORGEOUS

YAY CANADA!

Rolling Stones is definitely not worth that.

Rolling Stones wouldnt be worth me walking from my bedroom to the adjacent living room if they were doing a free show on my couch.

I'd tell them to get the fuck off of my couch.

I'd watch them perform in the corner of the room.

But the couch is mine

I actually had free tickets offered to me and turned them down. I chose family time and sleep over the 2006 version of the Stones.

extreme weather is awesome. sometimes.

back home on the isle of lewis we suffer more from fucking deathly amounts of wind. so much so that a couple of years ago during a really bad storm on a road between two main islands - a huge wave knocked a car load of people off the road and they all drowned. warning: when in extreme weather, do not try to travel in your car across quite limited areas of land.

tiles would have to be replaced from roofs every month or so. i liked it. school was often cancelled wooooh!

many nights spent in ullapool on the mainland waiting for the ferry to be okay for the ride home if we were away.

luckily we sold the old ferry - the sulivan - to those fools in new zealand  the local paper carried a picture of it in wellington harbour in a storm and i was like "we would have so stayed in and had a dram that day". here (http://www.marshallnz.co.nz/photos/shipwrecks_n.jpg) it is!

I wouldn't mind seeing them live to be honest but the ticket prices are just too inflated.

So are their ego's.

i don't know whether i could drive on snow. i probably wouldn't even try.

seeing the stones is one of those things that is an experience, more than a concert. like when i went to see the grateful dead. i don't like one single song the dead ever put out, but i still went, just to experience it and say i'd been to one. and to turn down grilled cheese sandwiches from deadheads. my ex loved them. now he seems to follow around some band called slightly stoopid. so, does that make him a stoopidhead?
