Since we got a contingent of S-K fans (RIP :( ), I'd like to hear which one is your favorite and why.

For me, I'm gonna go with "One Beat" since that was the very first album I heard out of them. For me, it was one of the first protest albums relating to 9/11 to come out, and during an environment where supposedly nobody was speaking out (this was 2002), it was refreshing to hear Sleater-Kinney address our fucked up times. And it was BEFORE them damn Dixie Chicks. ;)

There isn't a weak album in their catalogue, but that one will resonate with me the strongest.

How about you?

The 2002 one because that's the only one I've heard. What I heard of the woods was ok, though.

It was a friend in London who got me onto them. He was probably one of the lazier, smellier chaps you'll meet. An actual galoot.

The Woods was perfect, but I probably have the strongest emotional connection to All Hands on the Bad One. I only got to hear the songs from The Woods live once. :( And it was right after it came out so I wasn't into it yet. But it's the better album.

"All Hands on the Bad One" as I tend to connect records with touring periods and this is when they were at their very best live, before Janet Weiss's arthritis had started to have significant impact on her health.....:(
