Busta shows love/ Wheres hiphop?

I was channel surfing the other day and i stumbled upon the BET Hip Hop awards. Busta Rhymes won the award for performer of the year. He started his acceptance speech out by shouting out Run DMC and Beastie Boys for knowing how to rock a crowd. He then said somethin like "to rock a crowd you gotta do more than just walk on stage and hold your crotch while you rap." Then Young Jeezy got on stage and grabbed his crotch while some girl danced on a pole. It was nice to see the boys get some love from the Hip Hop scene that they seem to be forgotten by, but where has hip hop gone?:confused: I can't see it, buried in a pile of bling bling, booty shaking and crack cooking.

i was watching the hip hop awards but i changed the channel cuz that BALLIN'! song was being performed onstage & i knew that this wouldn't be honoring actual good hip hop, i mean some stuff out right now is good but most is crap rap

Hip-hop honors was put on by VH1. This is the same channel you can watch washed-up Danny Bonnaduche drink himself silly on cranberry vodka, right after an hour of Hulk Hogan verbally body-slamming people. They have very little credibility with the Hip-hop community. Indeed many hip-hop greats were at that event, but when was the last time the boys got love from an artist thats on the charts today? Its basically one of the main reasons we have this message board, because it is such a rare occasion when you do hear their name come out of someone's mouth, we rush here to post news about it.
TT5B was a GREAT album, but I didn't hear anyone in the Hip-hop community showing love when it dropped.

Yo man, I'd just like to say that I loved TT5B, it def had some really tight tracks and at first I just didn't know the songs but once I listened to em a bit and read the rhymes and shit, saw them live performing songs off the new album, that shit was NOT slacking at all. they still rock the house, rep their style, and rep some real Hip Hop. Plus the style they rocked on TT5B was some old school style, call and response, finishing each others lines and such. That old school rhyming mixed with MMMike's mad turn technique and you have got one tasty dish.
Also, I don't see the point of being on these boards if you are about to hate on the Bboys albums and stuff. And, Yes I think it is always nice to hear that the Bboys got some props for their contributions and all.

Vh1 giving the boys props doesn't mean anything, they're just making money off them. Now I did say rappers "on the charts" but i meant to say "todays rappers", since their are plenty of rappers that are amazing that are not on the charts (probably more than are).
Now lets not argue on how good of an album TT5B was, cause it was damn good. It wasn't as innovative as the rest of the Boys albums, but it was straight REAL HIP HOP. That alone should have had people talking.

Yo, i'm just saying I liked TT5B and can't see why anybody who was a Bboys fan wouldn't like it. I can't think of what people would've wanted that they didn't get.
