Yeah, it has. No worries....
Paul's Boutique wasn't selling enough at the time to warrant a tour.

It would be dope listen to an album like Paul's Boutique live.
Can you imagine Hey Ladies, 3-minute Rule, What Comes Around, Car Thief, etc, live at the same concert??

If it had garnered the cult status and critical acclaim at the time of it's release that it gets now, I wouldn't be surprised if the setlist was comprised of the performance of the whole album in it's entirety, kinda like Pink Floyd did with Darkside. No other hits, just the whole album from front to back. I feel that that's the way the album was built, as a single piece of uninterrupted work. Anywho, all of this speculation of how dope that tour would have been is making me feel kinda empty inside, I'm going to go weep in the corner for a half an hour or so...

yeah, at that point in their career i can't see them doing a show of half LTI songs and half PB songs.
it seems like at that moment they wanted to move away from the LTI image and I would see them doing a setlist of entirely PB songs.

it's just because they didn't have a hit single to tour behind

It was a minor hit but compared to Fight For Your Right it was almost like they had completely disappeared.
I think they also didn't really want to tour at the time because they were tired and they also had tried to do some small club dates with PB songs but it didn't go very well.

did it even make it to the pop charts? I dont remember it making it.
as for being tired, I dont think that was a factor. they were living large in Cali and they werent in court too much because they had a team of lawyers working for them.

If memory serves me correctly it charted at number 36 on the Hot 100 but Fight for Your Right charted at 7 so you can see what I mean.
It's kind of sad when you think about, "She's On It" was actually a top ten song in the U.K and Hey Ladies didn't even chart there.

Because at that time the fans were not sophisticated enough to handle the voicetacular goodness that is PB.

They were too busy taking drugs and dressing up in 1970's women's clothes for such trivial matters as touring.

They should perform PB in full. It's a very Dark Side kind of thing, and as many say about Dark Side, PB has been like an old friend to me. Good call McDuff.

Man, a one-night only concert of just Pauls Boutique would be incredible. At a smaller venue, like maybe 3000 or something. There are way too many tracks off that album that dont get enough stage time. And that is the serious truth.
