Ours went up about a week ago. I noticed when the big presents were put under the norfolk island pine on one of the roundabouts in town and its not even december yet.

I'm gonna put some lights up on the house this year for Riley 'cause he's been bustin to do it all year and its gonna be our last chance to do it since we'll be living out in the middle of the bush next year.

We'll put the tree up when we figure out how to keep it from being crash tackled by the Esi-bear.

And crashing christmas tree happen 2 times to me last year, hehehe.
One time not properly balance, the base was not well fixed.
Second time, the dog wanted to eat some candy in it.

The Esi-bear is an 18 month old girl with a penchant for destruction and laughing at her own farts. Traits encouraged by a seven year old brother. A most remarkable species.

I thought there was admirable restraint in our area. I think the first real stuff I spotted was mid-November. Maybe because this one stretch of Dec-o-houses was still consumed with Halloween. Then they managed some interesting Harvesty-Christmasy sort of thing a couple weeks ago to bridge Thanksgiving and Christmas (presumably). Not awful.

The lights in Peterhead have just been turned on, and involve a very attractive rendering of an oil rig as the centre piece.
Very Christmassy, and a constant reminder of who is paying the wages so people can afford presents in the first place.
