it is shit like this that will make future terrorists....

These kids are not animals, they are human beings who have suffered enough, we don't know what these kids have been exposed to

but we can all agree it has been hell

this is cruel and these soldiers should be reprimanded, fuck them.

I'm not saying it wasn't an asshole thing to do but if you spend long enough in a deployed location sweating your ass off 24/7, sand everywhere, hot, no sleep sometimes you do stupid shit just to keep from going nuts.

It could be true what you said. But those soldiers didnt seem that stressed to do such a thing. That attitude was simply cruel dude.

My faith in humanity is so lacking that I was surprised he didn't shoot the kids.

What asses.

A few bad apples can certainly spoil the bunch, unfortunately.

Like the bad apples at Abu Ghraib, or the bad apples at Haditha, or the bad apples at Mahmudiyah... come to think of it, where are the good apples, exactly?

You know maybe there was something to be taken from John Kerry's remarks, I loathe to think it, but hey there's always a shoe...

The ones who do their jobs every day in silence and dignity, building schools, roads, protecting the citizenry where applicable, etc., et al.

Are you really attempting to make the argument that the vast majority of US and coalition troops should be painted with the same broad stripe as a few (relatively) bad apples in the examples you cite?

How very gauche of you. Perhaps we should look at every sin your countrymen have committed throughout history and judge you by their actions?

I suppose not, since I'm sure many soldiers aren't actually total assholes. But it's pretty tough to call them heroes considering the damage they've inflicted on an entire society, and watching videos like this, of everyday soldiers on a routine patrol inflicting petty cruelties on children just for a few laughs, does make one wonder how many more such incidents go unseen, unreported, and unnoticed. Except, of course, by the victims involved.

You want to play that game with a Canadian? By all means - there's no way for me to come off worse than you if we play by those rules.

I read an interesting article the other day that stated this war has the fewest Medal of Honor winners since forever. Perhaps they're not heroes, but they're not all demons either.

Sure. What about Canadian war crimes during the French and Indian Wars? Or the Revolutionary Wars? Or the War of 1812? Or against the Germans during WWI & II?
