I know I made a thread about me kicking the habit of drinking. Here I am now, biting that dog in the ass that has bitten me. Sipping on Capn' Morgans spiced rum and Coke at almost 2pm. I'm enjoying life right about now.
I look back at the thread I made. Somewhere along the lines of "Fuck you alke hawl"
I made that thread because of where I lived at the time. I'd go to roll call only to hear about former teammates passing on. It was at least 2 per every roll call.
We'd have a brief prayer for them, get briefed and then do our duty.
After the duty, I'd come home and drink. While drinking, I'd do nothing but think about the people I really didn't know and become depressed and cry everytime. My wife was tired of seeing me like that because it was a hard life for her as well.
Now that the ruckus is over and things are greatly looking up, whenever I drink now, all I can do is smile and be happy.
I guess this message is. If you have depressing things going on in your life, don't drink. All it does is intensify the depression.
