apparently they have this thing called the International Union of Elevator Constructors and you have to do an apprenticeship with. However, the apprenticeship may involve a secret college ;)

i thought i made the worst elevator joke ever, until i just read cmute's.

anyway, they were repairing one at work, and the poor guy had to work on it while it was in use, and somehow, i kept making it so that it would sorta fuck up all over again. so, i apologized, and said something about his job sucking when people like me keep making it worse, and then i said "but hey, at least you get to travel, right?" i figure he probably hears that at least 5x per day. i immediately apologized. he nicely claimed he'd never heard that one.
