Resigns? He wasn't really officially appointed. He was put in during a congressional recess (very bipartician on the presidents part) and was only able to serve a limited time unless congress gave him the thumbs up.

I don't see this as really a big deal and hurray for our side etc.

Bizarrely enough, the Chinese Ambassador praised Bolton for the way in which he streamlined a lot of the bureaucratic bullshit that was hindering the UN!

Praise from the Chinese... is that a good thing?

I don;t know. The Chinese are sure supporting Iran, which you have claimed to be in favor of. They're helping to stave off serious samctions, which I'm sure you support as well.
