I have reasonable suspicion/some information that Wal Mart will be selling Wiis tomorrow. I plan on going eaaarly tomorrow to try and get one. The question is this....do I go at opening (6 AM) or do I arrive a few hours early? Also, should I buy two, and ebay the other to some overzealous nerd for profit?

My buddy at work tried that with the PS3....he wound up with a broken toe (crowds got rough) and his high bid was only like 1K and is lowering daily. Just an FYI

Go an hour early, and yes buy two and sell it on eBay. Also, try to sell the box the same way some dick did with the XBox 360. You'll feel good inside making money off of some gamaholic desperate to buy the next-gen consoles.

I remember back in the day when people camped out for the N64 and Playstation.

I wonder if there was any crazy riots going on in the waiting lines of the first Atari?

It was pretty bad. Pong had us good and primed for the next generation.

Why yes Ericlee, there was. My friends camped out at Sears when Pacman came out for the Atari 2600. They got it at midnight and brought it back to a group of us who stayed up all night playing it. We never slept and yet when I returned to my house around 10:00 a.m., my parents insisted I still mow the lawns and do yard work. Extremely unfair. After I got everything done, I went to my room and fell asleep watching G-Force.

haha that's the PS3 croud-- people getting shot, arrested, the Wii folk are fun lovable and shit.

NLOL, I would find waiting for a little while in line with fellow dorks to be a fun and interesting time, it won't come for another few years man.

Hey, Chewie -- remember all the ruckus when the abacus was introduced? -- and how some of 'em got shipped without beads, just the rain checks enclosed?

That sucked.

So you were around when people started auctioning their smoke-signals?

Did you get the first gramophone-ROM at the midnight opening?

I did read one of the first published HTML books and was sought out by two companies to do websites. But they were Christian websites which wasn't up my alley. I didn't think being a designer for HTML would go anywhere. LOL. Please bring toast for the egg on my face.
