And may I just say that anyone who dislikes that movie merely because of its cult popularity is a fanboy cock fondler whose opinion doesn't matter.

The basic premise of that movie fascinates me, along with the late 80's soundtrack and set design. LOLZISHOULDBEWORKINGROLFLOLZEZZ

...the opposite's kinda true, too.
The movie's an interesting mess with a few good bits. No more nor less.

So let me ask you something. What IS okay to discuss in your book?
Oh, tits and football? Okay.

I bet if it had subtitles, you would've made a poll about it.

You can discuss anything you want to even stuff that seems to get posted at semi-regular intervals such as Donnie Darko. For today I think I will stick to irritating, annoying, and otherwise bothering my fellow board members. Having said that....have you ever rubbed a football between your tits???

...I think there are a few subtitles, aren't there? Doesn't Frank get the occasional subtitle?
Anyway, you don't know me too well. I think that if-it's-foreign-it's-Art stuff is poseur sheep-herd crap.

Sometimes Im not sure which is better, the theatrical or the Directors Cut. I think the original should be watched first, with the directors cut second. It adds more to it.

I enjoyed the movie and bought the DVD. Directors cut. When I see "Directors Cut" I often think of a brisk :(
And may I just say that anyone who dislikes that movie merely because of its cult popularity is a fanboy cock fondler whose opinion doesn't matter.
Who doesn't fall into this category? Unless you like 16 yr old dweebs wearing mascara and chick jeans fighting over the last Donnie Darko poster or Boondock Saints T-shirt at the nearest Hot Topic. I'll pass. I know it seems kinda wrong to be turned off to a movie because of the nature of it's following, but I'm certain that if the movie was anything else but mediocre (at best), I would still like it regardless.

I have never seen it. Without ruining it, what is it about?
What difference does it make? Patrick Swayze is in it.
But if you must know, it's about fate and depression. At least that's the meaning I gathered from it.

I am assuming you meant "bris" in your post, echewta.
Hmmmmmm. You have a point there, Chewy.
No, I bought it before I saw it when it came out. I heard good things from friends, but was seriously let down. When that happens, that movie is dead to me.

About Patrick Swayze? Yeah, I know.
He's seen better days. As far as Im concerned, Swayze's still surfin and robbin banks in Mexico.

Nope. It makes me thinking about Lipton Ice Tea in a can. Like the commercials. "Its brisk baby!"
Digi, you should check it out before going F9/11 on it. I would hate to question your commitment to sparkle motion.
Patrick is ok but yes, Point Break was his peak. "Seriously Warchild, back off" Oscar right there.

Me disliking that movie has nothing to do with the bunches of people that liked it - it just made me all the more confused as to why the fuck it ever reached cult status. It was so long ago that I can't remember my specific reasons for not liking it, but a friend and I just kind of stared at each other like "that....that's what the big deal is?"

Good find, one of my favorites.
Sean Connery (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jiqLSVDzIME&mode=related&search=) gets his revenge.

I like the film, it's quite soothing to watch. It usually sends me to sleep though. I reckon I've fallen asleep before the end more than 50% of the times I've watched it.
