....we'll see what the last few weeks brings, here in the US. I'm crossing my fingers for Apocalypto, Letters from Iwo Jima, The Good Sherman, The Good Shepherd....
For me, so far, I think. Not strict order:
United 93
The Queen
The Departed
The Fountain
The Prestige
An Inconvenient Truth
Brick
Little Miss Sunshine
Mission Impossible 3
Half Nelson
HEIRESS

the prestige irked me because I figured it out too early on and Brick I just couldnt make myself watch more than the first 45 minutes, maybe I should give it another shot

Yeah. It's been a fine but weak year for movies. Not a lot I was jumping up and down about. Not like '99 or '01. :(

cheers. i think my favs were inside man, red, white and screwed, and when the levees broke. i don't know where to start with inside man, because there were so many great aspects to it. i was really happy though in june, because red, white and screwed was constantly on hbo, and it is (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6WW6AFu1RF0&mode=related&search=) pure (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N9J_OnDbTQ8&mode=related&search=) gold (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5G6yx_jJuoE).

ten might be hard for me to come up with...
1. Grandmas Boy. - we bought it immediately afte renting it and we watch it at least once a month that's how much we like it. "I AM A ROBOT. I HAVE A ROBOT VAGINA."
ok this sucks. I can't think of any more. that's it I have one favorite and nothing else sticks out in my mind. it's been a shitty years for movies for me.

....these things are kind of unfair, since, for a lot of people outside North America, these "2006" movies are "2007." Or, say, how The Proposition is really (I'm pretty sure) a 2005 (Australian) movie, but we get to pull it in here...
I can only think of 3:
The Departed
Little Miss Sunshine
Pirates 2... shut up.

I see a few shout out's for "Inside Man"...I've been passing it by for weeks....have to pick it up,maybe Spike has returned to form???....I also just remembered I also saw "Marie Antoinette" which looked amazing but the out of period soundtrack killed all continuity for me…...(n)

sweetheart, Rob Snider is only in the the first 3 minutes of the movie. he literally has 3 minutes of air time if that, so don't let him be the reason you skip this movie.
that said if you don't like video games, gaming culture and or have never smoked ganja, you probably won't find the movie funny.

First up...
The Departed
Children of Men
These two were the most impressive...I left the cinema fairly gobsmacked after both, two of the best films i have seen in years
...then we have...
Awesome! I fuckin' Shot That - Way better than I imagined it could be.
Right at your door - Nice little surprise.
And films which just plain ol' entertained me:
Inside Man
Borat
Jackass 2
Superman Returns

It was, hands down, the years biggest disapointment for me,I think I had soooo hyped it in my mind that it fell flat....although it was a blast to go see it at the 1 night premier in a theatre here, with like minded people in the house....a for effort,b for delivery....:(

i can't be sure i even watched 10 movies in 2006.
i liked v for vendetta and bought it the day it came out. other than that, nothing really grabs me.
i like running old school kung-fu movies in the background with the sound off and music on instead.

I'm looking forward to Volver, Children of Men, Pan's Labrynth, and I haven't seen Little Children or Babel.
I also just got The Death of Mr. Lazarescu in the mail, which is supposed to be great.
Biggest disappointment: The Science of Sleep.

"Last King of Scotland"
you've seen last king of scotland already? cool. i assume at a festival. i really, really want to see it. i think kevin macdonald is an incredibly talented man. he came to a conference i was hosting in the summer of last year during a break filming that movie to talk about his career and stuff. i have his name badge at home! haha. he looks very dapper-ish. very middle class. very nice man though, amiable. anyway. it looks great.
umm. it's too much effort to think of my top 10 right now. 10 is quite a lot.

Did you like it? It's on every 10 best list!
I finally saw Little Miss Sunshine and maybe the build up was too big because I thought it was just okay. The acting was good though.
Thank You For Smoking was a good idea and great cast but I lost interest about halfway through.
Casino Royale will probably make my top 10 afterall.
