...I'll include Coda -- what the hell.

Me -- I think this is a pretty rough poll. I'm not even sure which one I think.

It's the kind of shit I need to post about before I vote. They're all technically pretty good. It started sliding at Presence. I'd say the obvious ones would be II, IV, and Physical Graffitti.

Having had a little time to think, my favourites are either III or Houses of the Holy. Coda gets honourable mention though.

I'll vote for Houses, just for the departure.

II

If this were an open poll, I would've voted for Houses of the Holy, as well.

I usually think III is my favorite, but that's probably because it's a real cliché to go with the untitled album.

But, let's face it: the untitled album is pretty much perfect. It's Led Zeppelin's diamond, where everything gelled and kind of flows into and out of that one. If it weren't so damned popular, I think it would be the ultra-clear choice, but since it's sort of the world's favorite, I usually feel compelled to grab something else -- usually III, sometimes PG or I.

But, yeah. The fourth album. (y)

Untitled/IV is just everything they did, well. It's perfect for them.

Yeah. It's the crystalized version. Like, if Led Zeppelin were going to put one LP out on the coffee table to say "Here's who we are," it'd probably be that one.

III wins by the thinnest of fiber optic strands imagined. The reason? A little bit more fun & reckless than the others as a whole. IMO

A couple of my friends were trying to turn me on to other-than-Zoso-Zep when I was about 19 or 20, and I was still in kind of a phase where Zeppelin represented everything wrong with rock, etc. -- the whole cock-rock thing you were sort of obligated to despise if you listened to punk, etc.

"Gallows Pole" was the thing my friends played that broke through for me. I was like, "Holy shit -- they can do that!?" and then I became a lot more open minded about them. I think.

Houses of the Holy, because I hate Stairway to Heaven, and don't care for Four Sticks much at all. Despite those the fourth album is still earthshatteringly amazing though.

"First of all Rat, you never let on how much you like a girl. "Oh, Debbie. Hi." Two, you always call the shots. "Kiss me. You won't regret it." Now three, act like wherever you are, that's the place to be. "Isn't this great?" Four, when ordering food, you find out what she wants, then order for the both of you. It's a classy move. "Now, the lady will have the linguini and white clam sauce, and a Coke with no ice." And five, now this is the most important, Rat. When it comes down to making out, whenever possible, put on side one of Led Zeppelin IV...."

I never really understood that line, actually. I never thought of that album as a great make-out album of its day.

Maybe because I was five. :D But, still.

As much as I would like to go against the grain, I do believe that IV is the tightest album overall.

I personally enjoy III and Houses Of THe Holy the most, but I don't think either is the best. I'd put them in this order:

IV
Physical Graffitti
III
II
Houses Of The Holy
I
Presence
In Through The Out Door

agreed, although my favourite is their debut album. it's practically flawless, besides from communication breakdown, which is pretty much filler.

Yes, let's fight over that second to last spot. I think that Presence is better. That's one way that it's better. Beacuse I think so. So much for your argument.

Funny enough, I just read that Presence is Jimmy Page's favorite album of theirs.

This stupid Rolling Stone article written for entitled, rude little 18 year old shits said that "Presence is probably Led Zeppelin's best album". Fucking hell. Cunts.

Yeah. And Dirty Work is the Stones'.

To be fair, I think Presence is way underrated, though. It's kind of a almost near-great album. Good enough that I throw it on pretty often, kind of hoping it'll unlock or something.
