Albums tend to be shorter with a lot fewer skits and guest appearances. And I'm glad.
Somebody just needs to tell Snoop and Ghostface.

I wish rappers would put more effort into cover/liner art.
they probably won't, though.

Actually I think the whole guest appearance thing is worse then ever, almost every song on a rap album has a guest rhymer on it and they never seem to stay on subject(even though usually there isn't even a real "subject" to most songs.)
While I'm on the topic, why do rappers do this? If I wanted to hear those other people I would go buy their album :(

Yeah, I cringe everytime I see most rap album covers. Honestly, they are artists and know what is aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Enough with the cheap photoshop sht and get some real art on the covers.

sometimes if they're signed to the same label & the guest artist is an up & coming artist they do it to get publicity, & sometimes they want new friends hehe

I still don't think that this (http://www.amazon.com/Gangsta-Rap-Ice-T/dp/B000IFRQN6) cover is in any way as tasteful as this (http://www.amazon.com/Power-Ice-T/dp/B000002LF6/sr=1-1/qid=1166070973/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/002-3867214-1793646?ie=UTF8&s=music) one.
I think that covers for rap albums hit their creative low between 1998 and 2003, but have been steadily improving. Nothing's touching the artwork from around '88 to '95, though.
