This is a side story of sorts to the main Final Fantasy XIII, for the PlayStation 3. It's being billed as action-oriented. The Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children development teams are working on this game. Tetsuya Nomura (Kingdom Hearts director) is the director.
I like that it seems to take place in a futuristic setting. I'm not certain how the gameplay will fair, but it's looking nice so far. To play devil's advocate, I can't help but expect similar themes from new Final Fantasy games, such as armies of soldiers, and a typical looking Square Enix character, with the messy hairstyle. In essence, it's boring me. It's not as major for me, though. There are other RPGs to play that have different types of storylines and art, such as the upcoming Rogue Galaxy, Ar Tonelico, or Persona 3.
