Jay only admitted defeat to help sell Nas' album. There, I said it. He couldn't promote an artist he sonned so dramatically without being humble.

And Kingdom Come is better, too.

I don't think Jay sonned Nas. Takeover is a better song but Ether was just so well-timed and the attitude behind it was more powerful. Shit, the word "ether" has even entered hip-hop slang, surely that demonstrates the significance of that track.

But really, I would say they both lost, beef of any kind is a losing battle for all involved. It's nice how they're all chummy and like "no YOU're the best!" with each other now though.

Fuck off about attitude. Jay wanted to dismantle Nas, and he did. Plus Takeover is a song, it's gonna reach people who it wouldn't normally. Ether is just vitriol over a generic beat.

Beef is what makes rap interesting.

But that's beside my point; Jay-Z had to put Nas over. Plus, Jay being Nas' boss shows who really won.:D
