I laugh at how 'futuristic' the western world got, yet the same greater problems still exist. And without hover cars, and robot servants.

Although this year was plenty fantastic, 2001 had a feeling to it I've yet to encounter in this new century. Obvious massive tragedy, maybe it's just a personal thing. 2004 wasn't bad, either.

Your choice can be for whatever reason.

this decade huh....

would have to be 2001. that was when i was managing a nightclub, drinking loads of free alcohol, fuckin around with loads of hot hot ladies, and lets not forget the coke. and i got paid very well for it.

ahhhhh....... memories.

Yeah, I met the wife in 2001. Partied a little, but travelled WA selling pay-TV door to door. That was funny.

2001 definitely subscribes to my theory about the first 3ish years of a new decade being leftovers of the last decade (look at 1991).

'04. I dunno why, it just seemed like a really easy fun year, lots of drinking, smoking and ladies and no real consequences.

In 02-late 03 I was travelling, living in a dream world. 04 I crashed back into this boring-ass town. But now things are looking up.

One of the things that put me off this year is finally seeing what 18 year olds are like nowadays. So many of them are rude, entitled little shits. Fucking kids.

but really, let's wait four more years before we decide. 2007 is shaping up to be huge, I hear.

There's going to be a war and a famine and a tidal wave.

2004

january: first long term bf breaks up with me. i'm broken hearted, but it had to happen and i wouldn't have done it. this is two days before australia day.

spend an amazing australia day with good friends i'd neglected while having a bf.

february: big day out. front row of basement jaxx. amazing. 2 weeks later, david bowie (y)

spend a few months going out with old friends, meeting new people, getting plastered, flirting and talking to whoever i damn well want to.

casually date a guy on and off. nothing serious, just fun. so much fun. we dressed up as vampires for halloween. spend some of the year housesitting, etc.

december basically party season rolls around and i got this new hot guy, we party, he goes away to rio, and i go to an awesome event on NYD

We just had some house-sitters in. Friends of ours. Tell me this: Do house-sitters, you know, have relations in the houses? It's just we've got to know.

oh the things i did in that house
we weren't given a reference from her when we rented a place... but we took really good care of their cat. apparently we didn't clean properly. i think the issue was more that my friend messed up the date of when they were getting back and they got back and we were having a big night :o

This year has been half awful, half amazing.
It's been heartache and depression 'till about july and after that it became a huge partay. And the partay bits make up for the shitty bits.
I literally bumped into some old friends and since that happened we've been hanging out together again. It still 'clicks' and we have so much fun.
Also I finally (sortof) found out what I want to do with my life and I've become slightly more confident, which is a good thing.
Basically, I've just learned to have fun again and am on my way to becoming a strong and confident grown-up. Yay! (y)

2005 was pretty rubbish. this year was shit too. ALL SHIT. SHIT SHIT SHIT

This is a little hard for me. But if I had to choose, I'd go with 2004. The first two months of the year were kind of shitty, things picked up a little in March around WrestleMania weekend, got crappy again for a few more weeks, and then things got REALLY good around the last week of April and didn't stop until September. And even after September, things were still good, just not as good as the peak in the summer. Highlight of the last few months of 2004 was going to New York for Christmas break and reuniting with my cousin again.

Plus, I started getting into the stuff I'm still into today: Beastie Boys, Skye Sweetnam, Quarashi.

2005 was like the complete opposite of 2004. First two months of the year were kind of good, but then things sunked into suckiness around March and didn't stop for the rest of the year with the "highlight" (cough) coming in November when I found out that my mom got cancer.

I honestly have no idea how I'd describe 2006. I've never had this problem before.

2001 comes in 2nd place. I was in 7th Grade that year, 2nd best school year I've ever had (the first being 5th Grade in 1998-1999). Tons of good times that year. Obviously, 9/11 put a stop to that.

2002 is a special case for me because the first 6 months of the year were SO, SO shitty, and the fact that the next 6 months of the year did a complete 180 and became SO, SO awesome is so amazing to me that it makes me want to write a book about it. January-February 2003 were also great, but they were just leftovers from 2002.

Most of 2000 and 2003 sucked.

i was thinking this year still could be the winner, depending on how it ends

most of the first part of the year was sort of uneventful, but ever since then things have sort of been up and down and even though i am exausted, i kind of enjoyed it.

2002 was probably next, just because i sort of coasted out of high school, had a somewhat entertaining job in the summer, and had some of the weirdest happanings with my random roommate.

03-05, i really don't remember too much of, or at least enough of a sting of things to piece together a great year, so 06 for the win!
