Beer? Damn, I love beer but, I'm getting fat by drinking the stuff. Michelob Ultra is probably the only beer with low carbs but, they add on after 10.

I'm thinking vodka so I can have a bloody mary when I wake up to bite the dog back.

Shit, I can't think of anything and I'm about to make a trip to the store.

Captain and Cokes...alllll the way. it was nice having an assload of drinks last night after not drinking for about 2 months. so good that I was asked to leave my friend's birthday happyhour for using the women's room by some fuckface at a TGIFridays.

oh yeah...i heard that mixing liquors with diet sodas get you drunk quicker. and it adds less weight to the ole belly.

Go for vodka. When I get fat from extreme Summer lager consumption a 2 month vodka diet instead seems to fix the beer belly.

I feel a tad gay ordering vodka and cokes in a bar though. Still it works well.

Did you have your "one in the oven" shirt on?

Vodka sounds good but does it taste good if mixing it with coke? I've never tried it and it's probably the only thing keeping me from it.

White russians don't sound like a low calorie drink. I'll probably get fatter drinking those over beer.

Shit yeah vodka's great with coke and if you buy a decent brand (I usually have Smirnoff I'm talking about £10 for 70cl's, Grey Goose and Absolut is nice too) there's little or no hangover.

I suppose it's all preference but too much "brown" sprits like whiskey or rum gives me an awful hangover/stomach the day after. I still drink them though...

Anyway good for the weight loss thing.

Not to mention the bloody marys too. I haven't had vodka in ages so, it looks like I'm going with that.

Fuck, it's freezing outside and I've got to walk a mile and a half to the store, haha.

Sorry Big Gus, but I'm disgusted that you used Smirnoff in the same sentence as Grey Goose...

Bingo. I just got a litre of triple distilled Smirnoff. I'm here sipping on some with good old diet choke and defrosting my ears. Godamn that was a cold ass walk.

I really need to spend more time outside to get rid of this lizard blood.

Anyhow, it's tasting great my friend. You're the winnar of this poison thread.

Btw, have you passed a kidney stone yet? Just wondering, you're mentioning kidney pains.

Get a part time (1 x 6 hour shift a week, preferably every Sunday during the day when it's quiet, I can watch the days Premiership football on 4 plasma's and I've got nothing better to do, thanks Boss) job behind a bar and see your enjoyance of "staff drinks" and "expensive alcohol purchases at cheap prices" skillz increase quickly and effectively. :)

Ew, Capt'n get's me violent. I hear Rum and Coke is good though. Whiskey and Coke im convinced is not a good idea at all - On New Year's day I was so hungover I could drink a diet coke without tasting Jack Daniels and wanting to puke.

Vodka's always a good idea in my book. You pick up some Vodka (I like Seagrams personally, not Smirnoff, I dont know why but I HATE Smirnoff) and get yourself a tab energy/Monster - Oh man that shit hit's the spot.

I passed a kidney stone when I was 17, it was more to do with playing a lot of intensive sports (like rugby) 2-3 times a week and not drinking enough fluids. It was painful as hell. It's the 1 and only time I've ever spent an overnight in hospital.

Funny enough when I started drinking alcohol regulalry everything has been pretty good but my doctor raises and eyebrow at my alcohol intake.

I'm Scottish, it's like it's in my genes to enjoy a drink or 8.

I've passed 5 of those bitches already. One of them was due to the climate and it happened during the worst time ever.

It has to be the worst pain I've ever felt and I've been shot before. I'd rather get shot again than pass another one of those bitches.

I can't really say I can compare it to anything else but I rate it more scary than breaking arms/legs in my youth playing sports and skating.

It felt like a heart attack I'd had a sore lower back for weeks but thought it was just a "knock" from playing sports. When it "passed" I blacked out within about 30 seconds of it "coming on". It felt like my lower abdomen/lower body was on fire. Woke up in the hospital with a morphine drip and some mad xrays with blue dye injected in my "waterworks".

32 now and never been in hospital overnight again.

Try playing rugby or football(soccer) on some spirits, let alone a beer or 2. Drinking alcohol dehydrates you.

I havent played rugby for over 10 years as I said I refered to something that happened to me aged 17 (ie before I could drink alcohol) and played lots of physical sports, to now when I'm 32 and drink more alcohol and watch physical sports on TV only...

All I'm saying is alcohol dehydrates you - it's common medical knowledge.

Yeaaaaah. I was at the liquor store and the bottle of Jameson was all like "c'mon, I know you want to, c'mon". The thing is with Jameson, I love the taste- straight and on the rocks. I drink that shit too fast because I love the taste so much. It's too damn cold to walk outside right now to kick myself in the ass for not buying 2 bottles, haha.

If I drink Vodka, I have to mix it and currently with diet choke. I really don't like coke all that much which kinda dampers my need for the gimmeanothers.

i've got the same problem with white russians. they're delicious, but they fuck me up real fast. i had 3 the other night, in a pretty short time span (they're great, i couldn't put 'em down!), and that was probably enough. for a school night.

i dunno, they're a nice drink, the kind of drink you just want to sit back with and sip all night, only you can't, because you get drunk so fast. like martinis. only they taste good.

they give you terrible breath in the morning, though

I've been a beer drinker all of my life. I'm just now broadening my horizons to liqours and have always wanted to try martinis.

I went to the store a while back and bought a bottle of Martini and Rose (I think it was) and it was a plain bottle that just said Martini. There was numerous kinds of Martini and rose but, this bottle didn't have any variation. I was thinking it was actual martini but, it tasted just like an italian seasoning or something.

How do you drink Martinis? I know there's different kinds now such as vodka etc..

Bob
12-08-2006, 08:15 PM
i'm not really a martini expert, i don't even know how you make them. your best bet is just to order one at a bar or a restaurant.

they're traditionally made with gin, but i think vodka is becoming the more popular choice. it's my favorite anyways. can't stand gin.

then there's all sorts of variations. shaken, stirred (has something to do with the ice), dirty (extra olive juice), dry (no idea) etc etc

it's a really clever little drink. it disguises itself as being very classy, but when you think about it, it's just a glass of alcohol, it's not even mixed with anything. it gets you very drunk very quickly, but in a very nice tingly kind of way.

i've been meaning to learn how to make them. i bet that would be impressive
