... is just getting ridiculous. And I don't mean the emo's themselves with their tight pants and floppy fringes.
I was just browsing through threadless and saw some comments to this shirt (http://www.threadless.com/product/682/The_Scr_Emo):

What's the deal? This doesn't even look like an "emo" shirt to me. It looks like a cool, clever t-shirt with an amusing and well-done variation of a painting.

So what's with the "I hate this shirt cuz it's emo" business?
pfft.

Also, I'm getting it. Hurrah! Better start listening to MCR and cutting myself!

P.S. Before you call me emo I would like to clarify that like everyone else, I hold every prejudice against emos and in no way stand up for them, just the shirt, which I don't think should be affiliated with such things (I know the competition was "Cheer up, emo kid". I know there's an emo kid in it. But that doesn't make the shirt emo).

So don't be hating on me for not hating on emos because I assure you I do ;)

I haven't said emo enough. EMO EMO EMO EMO EMO EMO.

Jesus, stop the hating people!
It's wrong to discriminate people of different rasses or religions, but for some reason it's alright to hate a group of people who like to dress and act a bit differently?
A while back I even read that the NME had an article about how gay emo's were and how it's ok to make fun of them and there were angry letters from schoolkids who were now getting bullied and beaten up just because they looked a bit emo.
I think it's disgusting. For some reason it seems to be cool to hate and slag emo's. If you don't hate, then god forbid, it means you must be one of them! Aaaah no!

*shakes head*

Sorry, but I just had to rant about this.

This emo stuff must have recently came out. I saw my first crowd of emo kids a month ago.

I dunno, they dress pathetic but it's no reason to hate them.

I dunno, for me it's just a whole unhealthy culture of self-loathing. It's not like it's the first time it's happened, look at the time when "the sorrows of young werther" was published.

It's a phase. Once it becomes less popular I think the general demeanor of that sub culture will improve. Just accept it as a sort of fad and realize that the truly intelligent members of society will rise above it.

I've had too much alcohol and I'm going to retire.

when they're 21 they'll look back at their teenage years with shame and embarrassment. that's punishment enough.

You know what's shite about the whole thing:
Because I wear glasses, like to wear black, have a fringe and have scars on my arms (from work related accidents) people call me an emo and think it's ok to hassle me. Fuck off dudes! Go wank a tramp or something.

Doesn't that pretty much happen to everyone though? :D

I have honestly never really seen an emo kid at my high school. There's this one guy who comes close I guess, he has died black hair and it looks like he hasn't washed it in months. He even has a black bandana that he wears around his neck like he's in some kind of gang.

I've seen him outside of school before and he still wears it :D
