View Full Version : Do You Squeeze Your Presents??

We had a huge debate about this at work today as it's getting quiet and boring there now.

When you get a wrapped present at Christmas do you squeeze, shake or generally ponder whats in there before opening it?

I used to always do it - part of the magic of Christmas. No one seems to bother now. Even me.

And what about the "trend" for putting something in a gift bag these days? How shit is that??? It's no where near as fun as opening wrappping paper.

I only half-ass it, like maybe it could be this, or this...my dad, on the other hand spends good time trying to figure out exactly what it is. He's very precise in his determinations. It's funny to watch, because he's usually right too.

I fake it for show....no one ever gets me anything good for Christmas or my b-day so I'll always pick up the gift, give it a lil shake and be like "Oh I wonder what this is..." when in my head I'm thinking "Probably more crap"

I used to squeeze them but I left this habit behind the day I killed the hamster my dad gave me in my birthday.

Hell NO! I love surprises more than anything in this world and well, that would mean not touching my presents... I just gaze at them and wonder.

When I searched the entire house for presents that one year I was stoked that I had gotten Simpsons action figures and TMNT 2 for the NES. Best Christmas ever.

I never thought to squeeze my presents as most of them were in boxes. Unless they were long boxes, then that meant you had an article of clothing.

If by "presents" you mean "balls" then the answer is yes, occasionally.

I occasionally use gift bags with copius amouts of tissue and ribbon for girlie birthday gifts. At christmas though it's all about the paper. And the ripping!

i study the shape, and close my eyes and start feeling it, wondering what it could possibly be. my parents caught on to that though, so they just started putting my presents in a big box, so i couldn't tell =/

you have to squeeze them until they die, of course.

Since the decline of vinyl, I usually try to bend my presents. One year, I got this great collectors edition...*sniff* nevermind, it's too painful to remember.

OK maybe "squeeze" was the wrong way to put it. I just mean "feel/generally try and guess with stupid excited look on face" type stuff.

Watching other people open their presents to reveal something damaged or smashed is the best part of christmas.
