A wise move?
Im totally bored over here, need a completely new environment and climate and been considering australia and sydney for a while. Graduating in a month or so, but no way im looking works way. Plan is to buy a working holiday visa, get some kind of work, place to live and just start living the way i want to. I need to collect like 3000 usd so i have sufficient funds.
Is it a good place to stay in? Seems fuckin swell.

i'd seriously recommend either melbourne or brisbane over sydney. both are much better cities

cost of living in sydney is bloody ridiculous for starters. brisbane and melbourne are more livable cities, everything's not so fast paced as it is in sydney. i haven't been to sydney in 4 years now, but i've been practically everywhere on the east coast of australia and i wouldn't say it'd be my first choice of places to live. it's more of a city to visit, not to live

my friends moved to sydney and loved it. yes it can be expensive, but perth is pretty damn expensive to live in right now too, the prices they were paying for things was comparable to what i was paying (rent wise, public transport, food, etc)
and hey if you don't like syd you could always move to melbourne or brisbane after

Living costs, schmiving costs. The hardest thing about moving will be actually making the move. As long as you don't wind up in a barrel of Acid, having government benfits fraudulently claimed in your name (I'm looking at you, South Australia), you'll be right anywhere.

hey, I've lived in Adelaide all my life and only 3 serial killers have tried to murder me. That's a pretty good track record.
If you smoke pot, Adelaide is definitely the place to live. The fine from being caught growing up to 10 plants is less than if you got caught on a train with a concession ticket instead of a full price one.
And the pot is the best in the world, dozens of international touring bands have told me that firsthand.
So there.
If you don't smoke pot, err........ the weather is good? Food and wine are great. So are the chicks.
But yeah, anywhere is Australia is a good place to start.

i've called sweden a couple of times before. the weird thing is is calling them off peak is about the same rate as calling someone during peak times in australia. you best start an oz clique thread. i would but dont have enough board cred for it to survive.
btw, are you originally from dunedin?
