It's not all about the music though for my dislike of Coldplay. Although the first whiny line of that song that goes 'you try your best but you can't succeed' (or something) makes me want to rip my ears off.
There is just something about Chris Martin that rubs me up the wrong way. It's like me and Kevin Costner. I've never seen a single film with Kevin Costner in it because he just bugs the shit out of me.

The problem is my mother likes them. They played at the lowlands festival this year and my mum phoned to ask if I've seen this lovely band called snow patrol as they were sooo good etc and I told her 'No ma, I've heard snow patrol once and nearly fell into a coma. I went to see [insert talented band here] instead.' And she was disappointed.

I've hated them since Final Straw came out. Back then 'Run' was played to death. It was the festival singalong of that year or something.
But their music just bores me and I don't see why some people think they're so fantastic.
Their Lowlands gig was on TV some time ago and every song sounded the same and they just have no energy on stage. I like to be entertained when watching/listening to a live show, and they did absolutely not entertain me.

Belle and Sebastian are lovely. I've seen them live and instead of making want to fall asleep, they made me feel all warm and cuddly and lovey-dovey.
Yeah, Stuart Murdock & co. rule. Stu is a funny man too and he's sweet, plus B&S have a shiteload of instruments on stage to make the songs interesting. Not just the plain old guitar,bass&drums.

Snow Patrol were at Dundee University for a few years just before their last album made them "big".

i used to go and see them a lot and I liked their earlier albums (I think there's 3 before Final Straw) they were quite good. They are pretty decent guys too, especially the bloke that played the bass that they sacked a while back.

I dont like this shit they are doing now though, it's "Coldplay Lite" and i fucking hate Coldplay so much. it pisses me off when bands I like do this, Athlete did the same. Whiny sad man-wank songs.
