Solo albums aside, who is your favorite member when a part of the group. I'd have to go with Method Man if only because I could listen to "Method Man" off 36 Chambers everyday and only get tired of it every third week.

its the M-E-T-H-O-D MAN! its the M-E-T-H-O-D MAN!

i'd say method man as well, i've only given 36 chambers 3 listens tho ( barely got it a month ago) so as i listen to it more my opnion might change

Meth. Is. The. Best. Rapper (in the group).

But, I think that Ghost carried the Wu on his back for years and has had the most consistent career. He's not necessarily the hands down best rapper in the group from a lyrical/skills/showmanship standpoint, but he's my overall favorite. But I still think that Meth is a better rapper.

ooooohh
i couldn't pick a favourite overall. i'm just gonna pick masta killa because of his verse off 'da mystery of chessboxin' which is my favourite wu joint.

i'd have to say Ghost overall, but initially Meth for the hooks, ODB for being unlike any other MC i'd heard or seen before, and Deck for his verse on cream

Gareth

deck also on triumph for bombing atomically...and on above the clouds hes nice too
mmm and cappadonna on winter warz gets a mention for his long verse

0 for the GZA?!

Tzar
12-17-2006, 07:33 AM
and 0 for rae... i was gonna pick rae. he's my favourite out of the more popular members (rae/ghost/rza/mef) but yeah... it's too hard to pick just one.

Live, GZA can't flow for shit. Ghost and Meth make him look like a rank am. Masta Killa on that dvd>>>>GZA on the same dvd. Even though Clan in Da Front is the shit, it's clear Genius isn't shit, really.

INS, easily the best MC. Though U-God is underrated imo. He kills some verses (ie. Chessboxin' and his verse on The Jump Off is SICK).

alotta surprises up on this poll. no gza or raekwon, and a big standing for u-god (of all people)? wow, very interesting results.

i gotta go with the rza for the all-around tip. great producer, adequate mc skills, super creative, good personality, he's the founder, work he's done outside of wu, soundtrack work, etc. he's definitely not the best mc of wu-tang, but I think he's hands down the most talented.

why no love for the RZA? Hes the all around most talented member if you consider his production talents, and hes better at rapping then masta killa and ODB if you ask me.

RZAs flow sounds like he has post nasal drip and got punched in the stomach a few times coupled with his space robot "boo-doo-doo-doop" noises.

The album is amazing, no doubt. But he's miles off the beat on a lot of live shit.

I can't believe the lack of love INS is getting. Listen to Triumph or The Jump Off or any other track he is on. He is head and shoulders above everyone else usually.

Oh, and nothing justifies Rae and GZA having zeros.

I like GZA, but I really don't like the fact he doesn't have a flow. If you listen to "Da Mystery of Chessboxin," it's a really hype song. U-God and Masta Killa's verses stand out in my mind, but it dies when RZA says "Yo Genius, take us the fuck out of here" or whatever. He just talks. He doesn't really flow.

It's hard to make a proper decision, they're all good in many different ways.

Except U-God, who is shit in many different ways.

fair enough, but the first minute or whatever of ...ain't nothing to fuck wit makes for one of my favourite openings to a 90's rap tune, and the RZA more than plays his part.

I'm not talking about RZA's verse. RZA's verse is great. I'm talking about after RZA says that. That GZA verse just ruins the song for me for some reason.
