View Full Version : Gwen Stefani - The Sweet Escape
I enjoyed Love.Angel.Music.Baby or whatever very much. But this new one is garbage (except for "Yummy").

L.A.M.B. sucked anyways.
And Gwen will NEVER return to do No Doubt. I'm not shedding any tears (tho I do like ND), but nobody ever cared about those other guys. ;)

Can you say "overexposed"? "No Doubt" was a sub-par So Cal wanna be skap/pop rawk outfit at best......her solo music is TERRIBLE.....she should tour with The Black Eyed Peas and they should fly around at night, in a prop plane during really bad snow storms.....

No Doubt was a good band with a very solid catalog of songs

Yeah, no doubt was cool. Gwen was also cool back then. At least she had some kind of style. But now it looks and sounds like she wants to be the white Missy or something. She's trying to be all ghetto and sexy at the same time. It annoys the tits off me. I miss the times when she would dye her hair blue and just be crazy and silly and fun.
I feel sorry for her Hubby.I don't believe that Mr. Rosdale is very happy with all this hiphop bullshit. He married a rockchick not a Ghetto-ho. (n)

Half of her new album is pretty good, the other half is just terrible.

Sadly, that's true.
Back when me and my brother were ska-dorks, he dug up lots of early and RARE No Doubt ska stuff that was actually really cool (some stuff for a radio station, I think. Which was way before they even got a record deal). Different than what No Doubt became famous for, and leagues beyond the inane solo stuff.

The band is currently working on a new album that is rumored for an early 2008 release date, while lead singer Gwen Stefani's second solo album, The Sweet Escape was released on December 5, 2006. With Stefani promoting her sophomore solo album, and a national tour in 2007, No Doubt plans to complete the new album after Stefani's tour is finished.
So that's just lies then? She has said that she wants to do another ND album.

Dude, I was making my own declarative statement, devoid of what the actual facts were. I don't go for facts, sir! They're elitist. I go with the gut. :p
Anyways, I read in interviews (before she got pregnant) that she was planning to do a No Doubt album "real soon" and what did we get? Another solo project.
Not saying it won't happen if those are indeed her intentions (to do a ND album for '08), but I'm not holding my breath.

Just saw the latest video.
I hate it when she spends the budget of a small country on one video (same with Aquilleria) and the track was just crap. Sounded like she'd been listening to M.I.A. a lot.
No Doubt is no doubt so much better than her solo stuff...

Cool.. I guess. But let's remind ourselves...
Although Rock Steady WAS a decent, dance-happy album, it was NOT old-skoolee No Doubt. It was all Gwen. The interviews, her saying while on tour, she wanted to make an album similar to dance music (which is her aim now).
Maybe they'll go back to their roots. Hopefully.

Actually, I was pretty big on "Rock Steady." There was a good reggae vibe evident on the record.

I dig No Doubt.
I liked L.A.M.B. it's good throw away pop silly fun
the new album I haven't heard but the new song, HORRID. It comes close to being something risky but falls short of good.
She's the only woman in the world I'd ever think about touching though. She's gorgeous. I've discussed this before. The end.

no doubt was decent
but after Return of Saturn i think she just went batshit insane.
decadent self-involved attention seeking trend jumping quasi-racist bimbo.
but i ain't no harlem fat girl.

i have a friend is in LOVE with her (not like THAT) but just adores gwen, whenever i bring up gwen not sounding like her recordings (not to diss but gwen sounds like shit live) she just won't believe it & will say "she doesn't use any help in her vocals or recordings at all" is that true? i find it hard to believe cuz she sounds very different & horrible live

I like it. Its brain candy. The only ones I consistently skip are wind it up and now that you got it.
I really like yummy and don't get it twisted even though both are creepily specific about her desire to conceive a baby.

I like No Doubt. I don't think any of their albums are exactly classics, but they all have their moments and there's at least 4 or 5 songs on each that I definitely rate.
Another record would be cool...becasue I imagine she'd want to do something quite removed from the current solo stuff, which can only be a good thing for No Dount anyway.
