so ive been drinking almost exclusively red wine.
i read somewhere that red cabernet sauvignon wine from the south of france is the healthiest because of the way its made... something about the process, letting it sit longer so there are 4x as many of the good chemicals produced... resevrol and some others. something about how people from that town have a very low rate (nearly non-existant?) of heart disease
anyone know about this? can i get away with other reds? its kind of a pain making sure i get that particular type when im going for price.
anyone?

i don't think that you really have to worry THAT much about a particular region. seriously, the health things people will buy into because they hear one thing about something...but uh, it's really not difficult finding cabs from southern france. anyway. wine has some great benefits to it, but it's always important to weigh your liver's health in processing the alcohol too, and one glass is only 4 ounces. that's not very much.
moderation kills everything fun.

you may be right about me buying into something i read as convincing as it sounded. here's an article (http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2-2478251,00.html) but there were a lot like that recently
for all we know it could just be some info created to just get people to buy french wine, who knows - i wouldnt dismiss that notion.
regardsless, maybe its my 'hood but finding red cab sauvs from the south of france that taste good and arent too expensive isnt very easy. i should stick to 8 ounces per serving too

I have a glass of red vino pretty much every night when I get home from work to unwind. I'm not perticular to any specific type but once a year every November I stock up on the Beaujolais Nouveau (http://www.intowine.com/beaujolais2.html) its a young wine, very fruit forward...its that or a good Pinot Noir.
TJ's has Beaujolais for about $7 a bottle.

last i saw the georges debouef was actually around $15. also - i highly recommend the Mission Park - for 5 bucks, you can't beat it. lots of complex flavors and pretty full-bodied. stock up, bitches.

my parents have a killer wine stock. everytime im home i take a few bottles back with me. montepulciano d'abruzzoooooooooo ooooooo soooooo gooooooood.
wine is good for you. especially the biodynamic wines without sulfates, or is it sulfites. whatever...biodynamic wines are the way to go. frey vineyards and masut out in northern cali are cheap and delish. many different grapes, the pinot is my favorite.
