Mos Def's new album is coming out...soon. I still don't know an exact date, but it's either late December or early January. It is 'out' on the net though. I really like it. It's much better than the New Danger, although I didn't hate that as most. There's still some songs where he sings like 'There is a Way' and 'Lifetime', but I like them. It's not a life changing album, but it's a pleasant surprise.

I'm getting it now. I hope it is as good as you say cuz Mos has the potential to be sick, he's just not used it for a few years.

We'll see. (y) (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=VNVVFGIX)

shit, it leaked? if someone could send it my way I'd be much obliged.

Black on Both Sides is classic but I like New Danger as well.

amazon lists December 29th

though I also noticed "Boogie Man" got dropped. that track was tight.

Not really. But there are 2 songs where he sings, although they're not rock. I liked them.

His 'Katrina Clap' song is on here but it's called Dollar Day (Surprise, Surprise). It's great.

seriously, "Boogie Man" is better than most of what's on this. I hate it when artists release songs and then cut them off albums.

so I read that this album was put out essentially so Mos could get out of his deal with Geffen.

And, while in Best Buy today I noticed it was on shelves in a cheap ass plastic case with no cover art, back art or booklet of any kind.

so I think that the above theory is correct. no promotion or anything.

it comes off really lazy for a Mos Def album.

if anyone cares here (http://www.giantstep.net/news/308) is that track "Boogie Man"

It was apparently supposed to be the first single but ended up cut entirely.

I like it a lot.

ignore this album. Read the link.

I knew no artist in their right mind would release an album this way.
