Gotta love mine. We had a shitload of food and a gift exchange. I got teddy bear cookie cutters to begin with, but since there were leftover gifts and I helped plan the party, I got dibs.

I took a shitload of those mini-chocolate bottles with the liquor inside. I got half a dozen Jack Daniel's, half a dozen Southern Comfort's, and then one Stoli Raspberry, one Stoli Orange, one Jose Cuervo, one Grand Marnier, and one Drambuie.

The question is, is there enough liquor to suck out of these little things to get sloshy for the rest of the work day? I say no, but I do like a challenge.

My squadron party was extremely lame this year...there's nothin but squares here. The only good things were the gift certificate to Hooters I got and my Lt looked hot in her dress and danced all freaky with me...

Did you get drunk and xerox your butt and accidentally send it out as a high-importance memo to everyone in the building, too? :(

our holiday party is next wednesday the 27th...at one of our locations and because our company has grown so much in the past year we arent allowed to bring anyone. No husbands / wives / GFs / BFs ...nada. I feel bad for the newbies who dont know anyone. It's always a drunken fest, there are always half naked girls dancing on the bar, one or two ususally fall off, someone has sex in the bathroom...yea, high class peeps I work with.

ahahhaha

Mine was during office hours, we just took 3 hours off paid and ate ourselves stupid which was pretty cool.

Tonight I'm going to my friend's Christmas party. After-hour ones gotta be more drunken and rowdy than what I had. I haven't met her co-workers though so I don't think I'll be comfortable drinking.

holy shit!

what kind of organization do you work for?

I'm in the restaurant industry, and when I say that I dont mean I am a server, not that there's anything wrong with that. I'm just on the corporate end of it all. So our holiday party is at one of our restaurants, I'm sure I'll have pictures next week. ;)

Our company doesn't have one, but my wife's (she works for AOL) had one and it was insane. They rented out the entire air and space museum and things got ridiculous. They had live bands, stand up comics, a dance party up in the control tower and indian, greek, and chinese food....all you coulld eat...spread out through the whole museum. It was strange sipping on rum and cokes next to nazi planes.

The drinks were all served in these plastic cups that had blinking red, green, blue, and white bottoms. It was cool until you had 4 or 5 of them and were staring down the bottom of the glass as you finished them up. It got me a bit dizzy at times.

Out of the 2,000 or so people there, we (our group of 6) were the last to leave. We were sloshed beyond belief and nobody made a fool of themselves (in our group at least) until the after party at our house. Yeah...it was kick ass.

All our company does is send us next door for some sub par food during a work day and everyone goes back to their offices or cubes and eats.

My boss is taking us to dinner tomorrow. I'm not looking forward to it. I don't like spending time with him outside of work.:(

lots of museums rent out to corporate parties. it one of the ways they generate income. I use to be an event coordinatior for a major museum in SF. it's not cheep to rent a museum but many of them have event staff to coordinate these things.

we have 3 parties. one for service, one for sales, and then everybody together. open bar at all 3. usually held at a very nice casino.

most of the bartenders get paid by the bottle so they make the drinks REALLY strong.

But I would think alcohol + priceless pieces of history = disaster. If they had like a hall or a large arena within the museum that would make sense. But Air & Space has IMAX, plus a bunch of rooms with displays and then in the main area, shuttles and planes and shit. The Spirit of St. Louis is there! What if some drunken butthole finds himself a ladder and climbs up in there?

Oooh, that'd be fun.

it was the one in Chantilly, which is much smaller but still pretty big. Udvar Hazy or something like that. oh yeah...and there was an IMAX theatre running movies all night. Its a shame that I was busy running drinks down my throat the whole night and didn't get to take advantage of anything but the food and liquor. But not really.

Mine was tonight and I missed it because I'm out of town in trial. :(

The Christmas party is the only time I see some co-workers all year.

Mine was a couple weeks ago. it was pretty lame because it was a chamber of commerce thing and we weren't allowed to bring dates or friends. but I got sufficiently toasty on free vodka tonics and had some delicious food. about the wildest thing that happened was me asking my boss, "how's your mullet going?" (he's growing a "fashion" mullet) and he said, "fine, how's your mullet going?"

oh also, I called a lady a filthy whore. other than that, pretty bland. one guy won a $150 dinner at buca di beppo in the raffle tho. (y)

cort's is tonight, but I was too tired to go. ma feets hurt.

Holy fuck I just went to my friend's holiday party and her boss is fuckin' loaded. He's a stock broker something or other, I dunno. But yeah! He's got a bigass house near downtown and he had his own piano player and bartender and slave! That's right, slave! ASctually I'm pretty sure he was a waiter but holy crap! In his own house! I was taken aback.

I had a Miller Lite and then my friend told me she'd drive me to work tomorrow morning so I had a martini and a jack-and-coke. And the Martini was 90% gin, 10% vermouth. Holy jesus.

And then we had dinner, I had salmon and green beans and salad and squash so although I ate a good deal, it was healthy. Right? ...Right? :(

AND THEN WE PLAYED HER BOSS IN POOL AND WE FUCKIN' WON! Wooo! I bet she'll be fired tomorrow either way.

My eye hurts.

bar staff go together, closed the place down got various imported 24s of beer, ordered chinese food and played drinking games until we were all good and drunk enough to go to a pretentious hipster bar...

best part was when we were leaving, the assistant manager goes, 'ok, assholes, grab your pocket rockets and lets go do some damage.'

so drunk...(y)
