Which one? What was it like? How long did you have it for and how did you get rid of it?

Read: I have something, but I need a non-direct way of finding out what it is and how to get rid of it.
Bonus points if all the cool people have had one and think it's no big deal.

Do you know what the best cure for AIDS is? Lots of unprotected sex with multiple partners.

You better be serious. If you are serious, that's too bad.

Are you sure? Cause thats how I got it. I should have predicted that 5 ladies at a time, unprotected, could be a risk situation :(

Only when you're paying for them.
But yeah, I'm sure. It's been voted the #1 cure for AIDS in the whole wide world!

STD free...I go every 6 months to the gyno and get the blue plate special for a complete work up...blood, swabs and urine. Sounds like fun huh?

Freshman year of college. There was some puss and discomfort and I got it checked out. That was actually the worst part -- the doctor inserted a swab or something in the end of my prick. Not fun.
Got some meds and it was over pretty fast, I think. Maybe a week or so?
Years later, I had a long-term relationship with a girl who had herpes. So it was kind of interesting to be on the other side of it -- managing a sex life with someone who could potentially infect me. But we managed just fine. (y)

The Clap. It Hurt. Cleared up as soon as I stopped banging your mom.

thrush and uti's but no stds. i did have golden staph in my system for ages though, and that caused me all kinds of maladies.

golden staph sounds so noble! no, i've never had anything. but my best friend from junior high went all slut-crazy and i remember a few years back hearing that her doctor told her," you have something, we're not sure what it is yet, so come back and we'll do more tests" and she NEVER WENT BACK.

No, not Scorsese. Not enough obsession and/or violence.

Dude why the crap do they call that thing a "swab"??? I guess people would fear it more if it was called "Thin metal rod that they jam in your pee hole and move around!"
Anyway that's pretty noble of you to date someone with herpes and not get freaked out. A girl I was seeing last year had it but didn't tell me until 3 months into the relationship. Needless to say I was pretty pissed. Not because she had it but because she put me at risk w/out my consent that shit wasn't cool.
Unfortunately there’s that schism about it that the person is dirty or something like that so I can see why she was scared to tell me but still that wasn’t cool at all. Especially since she contracted it from a dude that had lied to her. Luckily for me I am still clean but man what a scare. Still, that is really cool of you to look past it. It’s really not that big a deal if you take the time to educate yourself and take the necessary precautions.

Yeah. It's not like, say, AIDS or something. No way would I take that kind of chance.
Noble? I dunno. It felt like a rite of passage, in a way. Like I was finally behaving like an adult about a relationship. (I would've been about 24.)
Yeah, it sucks that your girl didn't tell you. That's the scary thing about sex from about the mid-80's on: you're really taking your chances if you're taking chances.
guys get infected with stuff all the time that they don't get symptoms for but they spread to girls.
Important stuff that causes horrible symptoms and results, like sterility. Like http://www.cdc.gov/std/Chlamydia/STDFact-Chlamydia.htm
Those new commericals about cervical cancer are because girls catch STDs that give them CANCER.
Pretty sad.
