They named him after Captain Nemo from '20,000 leagues under the sea'

3 weeks later, Finding Nemo was released in the UK

I know parents that were in the toyota land cruiser 4x4 club and named their son 'Storm Cruiser'.

What a stupid fucking name. all the parent's friends have lost respect for them.

Also I was in the supermarket last week and I heard a mother calling out to her toddler son saying, 'Moses, Moses!!!!! Come here Moses!!!'

Moses????????? For. Fuck's. Sake.

jabumbo

I'd name my kid anything if it had a prefix of "The" and suffix of "!".

Maybe I have my -ix's backwards I'm not sure.

my dad wanted to call me Giacomo after Giacomo Agostini. i would've hated it at first, but on the flipside i could use it as a pick up line saying that i was named after Giacomo Casanova

mikizee
12-23-2006, 03:48 AM
That pick up line wouldn't have worked.

'ppl call me nova..... as in... casanova? suck me, beautiful'

why would you call your kid Link tho? are you a big Encino Man fan? ( ps, i have the same bday as Pauly Shore)

if i have a daughter her name will be Natalya for sure

btw i have prolly mentioned this before but one of my friends' dads named 2 of his daughters after characters from sci fi shows. one is named after an assistant from Doctor Who, and the other is named after a character from Blakes 7. the third daughter Caitlin is the only one named after no one in particular. the other 2 have normal sounding names, but when you find out who they were named after you cant help but think how much of a nerd their dad is

At work we also have Liam, Noel, Maximiliam and Ringo, Ringo's big brother's name is Yoda (http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=17468613&imageID=893931597)...

If I have a daughter I will name her BoB. (Yes, with 2 capital B's.)

Well Viking is a boys name here, and so is Love (pronounced a bit like Louvr-é). Jonas Åkerlund (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonas_%C3%85kerlund)'s son is called Love Elvis!

Caribou

Awesome. I like the sound of Viking. And ofcourse it has to be pronounced in the scandinavian way.

Fo rizzle, not so long ago I heard this woman shout at her child in a shop. It wasn't so much the shouting itself that shocked me, but WHAT she was shouting...

"Nirvana.... NIRVAAANAAAA, Put that down!"

She must've really liked Kurt.

dorje is tibetan i think....

poopster, scoobs, biggie smalls, el nino...all real nicknames for kids that i have heard.

a coworker of a friend named his son jett. i thought that was weird. last names johnson too. jett johnson. and he always picks him up and does this thing where he makes him bounce around and dodge back and forth like a football player. the dad is pyschologically abusive trying to force his kid to be a football player, first its the name, now its the moves, in a few weeks he'll probably have him eating steak and doing pushups in the snow.
