i keep seeing commercials for it...seems like it might be kind of cool, but it also seems like it might be pretty lame. A-Z please chime in.(y)

I liked it - but I was annoyed at the story.

The rotoscoping was a seriously cool and original effect - but instead of using it to tell a trippy story they just told a normal (and somewhat convoluted) story.

**SPOILERS BELOW THIS POINT**

If they'd used the sweet rotoscope stuff to show the effects of substance D and had the movie get progressively more rotoscope, that would've made sense. As it was, they tossed you into the middle of a lot of complicated situations and used dodgy flashbacks to fill in the story.

If you take it all in at the end and make a conscious effort to piece it together, it's not bad - but it could've been so much more.

I was pretty disappointed.

Linklater is kind of like Soderbergh for me -- usually, even if I'm disappointed, I'm on their side. This one actually committed the sin of getting kinda.... boring.
