it was a nice gift, she may be a little old for one of the gift, but she should've gotten a laugh about the other one. also i wrote a nice note about how she has a good taste in books. Lucky bitch got her photo taken with that great author

Hmmmm....if you're talking about me I havent received anything yet...and the only reason I am thinking it's moi is because I posted a pic of myself and Bret Easton Ellis...my hero and I really dont remember anyone else posting pics of themselves with authors.

so yay if you got me...no yay because my mail lady stinks! I once got a xmas card in June.

When I met Bret it was at a reading for LP...you really have to read all his other books first to really understand whats going on, and if you havent read AP, it really plays a major role in LP. In the Q&A session with BEE, he basicailly states that none of it is true, but he also stated that he was going to be working on a follow up to Less Than Zero because he wonders what those charaters would be up to now. I can go on and on....ask TAL, Im pretty much obsessed. Him and Chuck Palahniuk= <3 although chucks new stuff kida sucks.

Hey I think you requested me on myspace and I declined because I didnt know who you were, OPPS! It all makes sense now, request me again, sorry.

yeah i did, i wanted a little bit of insight into who you were. because you're one of the people on this board that i know is a constant poster, but i dont know much about you if you know what i mean. then while reading LP i did a search and you came up. actually you were the only one that came up. it was like i hit the jackpot, cept i sent off my gifts. i am looking forward to reading Glamorama biut i have a few books to read first.

the only parts of the book i really believe are of his early life from when he was a total drug addict. he must've been on some serious shit to create a character like Patrick Bateman

adding you right now (y)

If you read interviews with him regarding AP, he says that Patrick Bateman possessed him in the middle of the night he would wake up and write AP. That Bateman needed to tell "his story" so he wrote it not Ellis. Also all the murder scenes were written last.

Glamorama is my fav book, Victor Ward...all time fav character, it's a love / hate relationship. ;) Let me know when you start reading, you'll have tons of questions.

Regarding LP...I believe that a lot of the stuff about his dad is to be true, I know he states in interviews that they didnt have a good relationship growing up and that a lot of his "issues" stem from that and it comes out in his writing...but the drug thing, totally agree with that, it's sort of a given with him. YAY, Bret talk!

Yes. It's 3.2 percent if you buy it in the grocery store or something (some other states apparently have the same law, so the big companies do make the 3.2 beer for these places). If you buy it in the liquor store, it's regular beer.

I should watch that movie again...it's cool because SLC is a fairly small town in comparison to big cities so it's all like hey I know that place!!

3% beer? holy shit that sucks. amstel light is actually less though. 2.5%, i believe.

most of the beers here are either 5% or 5.5%, but you can buy higher content beer at any store, provided they carry what you're looking for. we had delirium noel on christmas, and it's 10%. i bought bobby some st. feuillian or something like that, and they were 7.5 and 8.5. thing with the higher content beers is the shit sneaks up on you all of a sudden.

i lived in utah for a little while and they make you feel ashamed to buy beer there...i mean, aside from the big cities, if you are in a small town, and there are lots of them in utah, you have to buy your alcohol from a 'state liquor agency' where you walk in to this rickety little building that is all weird and dirty, and you ahve to stand in front of a counter and order a six pack, which is within arms reach, but you cant touch it. they can only seel beer by the can/bottle, and put a little tag-stamp on each one. yes, the beers are only 3% or something around that, and the agency has really shitty hours too. all in all, they make you feel like a dipshit.
other than that, utah is fucking beautiful. mormons are kind of weird though, some of them.
