so today at work everyone was talking about how shitty 2006 was

and i got to thinking, yeah, 2006 did kind of suck. personally, i feel like i got to do some cool shit, travelled quite a bit and accomplished some good things, but as for the year, for humanity....it kind of sucked. and thinking about that made me kind of sad..

i work at this upscale french restaraunt (till i find something that will help me pay for school and give me benefits) and i was working the bar and must have overheard at least 5 or 6 conversations throughout the night on how 2006 sucked. mostly it was women moaning about how their boyfriends were assholes to them, and men talking about how shitty work has been...and of course iraq was brought up a few times...

but man, anyone else ready for a new year?

we always expect a year to be "better" than the last. but life isnt that easy. that said, 2006 did suck more than usual. it was like being on crack: crazy highs with the most terrible lows.

i wouldnt be so angry at this year if i hadnt inavertently become a grown up in the process. life altering decisions and the sort... fuck. i had to stop being a kid. :(

i'd say it was an alright year. better than 03-05 for me anyway, or at least more eventful in a variety of ways


but i would say that next year has a whole lot of potential to go either way. so lets hope things start right and fall in the right direction from the start.
