I wonder if it would give Sting the kick in the ass he so desperately needs. (http://www.cnn.com/2007/SHOWBIZ/Music/01/04/music.police.reut/index.html)

That article has Andy Summers saying they should've just laid off for a few years, gotten back together, etc....? That's kinda bullshit. That's how "Don't Stand So Close to Me '86" or whatever happened: they got back together to start working on a new album, hated each other so much that they couldn't go on, so they recorded that little wank, tacked it on to a greatest hits album, and called it a day.

...I'm kind of amazed there are six people at this board who are even interested. :D
Sting's crimes against humanity have nearly overshadowed the fact that the Police were a hell of a band and made some really great music.
I think Ghost in the Machine may be my dark horse favorite record of theirs.

I sure hope not. I loved the Police before Synchronicity and I was upset when they broke up, but I haven't missed them at all. Sting got to be such an ass by that last record and they were shitty to the Talking Heads on that tour. The only good thing would be seeing Sting have to eat shit about doing a tour just for the money.
BTW -- Andy Summers is older than all but one of the current Rolling Stones. He was an old dude when the Police were on the charts.
